I’m shamelessly cribbing from Neptunus Lex for these two items related to Iran and the art of saying, “Nice doggie,” while searching for and hurling sharp sticks:
- Our “friends” the Saudis want us to get our hands dirty to remove the Iranian nuclear threat for them. I’ll let you dig further to get to the Wikileaks-sourced story, but there are salient points to be made here. Once again the House of Saud can’t be bothered to do the actual heavy lifting as part of their self-described mandate to guard that black rock, despite having the best military equipment money can buy. If I didn’t know be…wait a minute, I do know better, and I’m saying the House of Saud is waiting until they think victory over Israel is assured before committing any of their actual military to serious battle.
- Were the bomb attacks on a couple of Iranian nuclear scientists an example of “asymmetric warfare”? Lex seems to think so, and believes the shift to “asymmetric warfare” is because of TV coverage. There is so much commentary in both the piece and the comments, I’m just going to say, “Read it.”
