Insofar as the GOP needs to appreciate that the DNC will use any and every loophole at their disposal to try and thwart the will of the electorate, then yes. It was a necessary wake-up call that should move the legislature to tighten up the recount criteria.

We were fortunate in that the margin was insurmountable. I can’t dismiss the idea that, if the race had been tighter, Franken-esque trunk-loads of ‘discovered’ ballots might have found their way into the recount. If the WI-GOP hadn’t taken that eventuality into consideration before, they may now.

If the process of finalizing our election results emerges more resistant to surreptitious chicanery as a result of all this, then yeah, it was entirely worth it.

I’ma circulate a “Thank You” card for Jill Stein I hope everybody will sign. Do not, I repeat, do NOT drop any cash in the envelope…

As provided by Public Law 113-3, the statutory debt limit was suspended by Congress through May 18, 2013. Because Congress has not yet acted to approve normal borrowing authority after May 18, the Treasury Department will begin implementing the standard set of extraordinary measures

By law, the G Fund will be made whole once the debt limit is increased.

By law, the CSRDF and PSRHBF will be made whole once the debt limit is increased.

The $409 billion increase in the reported debt in the month of October really represents the amount of new debt created from May 18th to October 31st (five and a half months, not 1 month). Effectively, there really isn't a debt limit, because when we hit the debt limit, Treasury just plays a shell game, continuing to borrow beyond the limit until the limit is raised.

Two things…

1) WordPress is now capable of handling the Daylight Savings Time changes by letting you “Choose a city in the same timezone as you”. It then does the work of figuring out when that timezone is in daylight/standard time.

I hope Steve does a post sharing the truth about the debt limit… how we really hit the limit May 17th and used the shell game of “Extraordinary Measures” to borrow more money beyond the debt limit for FIVE MONTHS… borrowing that was “made whole” with new Treasury securities as soon as the debt limit was raised.

I hope you do that.

I think the better argument is that the federal government has
subsidized to poor to become the middle class, and the feds can not tell
