While I can’t say that I understand what dynamics are causing this, and Rasmussen still shows McCain leading either Democratic candidate, a recent poll indicates that Hillary Clinton is now leading John McCain in a national poll by 9%.
I think it’s time to call a cease fire on Operation Chaos for the following reasons:
- With Jeremiah Wright, Bill Ayers, his wife, it appears that Barack Obama has not only proven to be mortal but an unvetted mortal as well. In fact, in a recent poll the “Obama concern factor” has dropped by 17% amongst Republicans.
- Even in a general election it appears unlikely that Barack Obama will be able to move to the center. He has staked out positions so far to the left on significant issues it would be hard to come back with any credibility. With Hillary, well, credibility has never been an issue for the Clintons. They find ways to sway with the polls and convince people that that’s what they meant all along.
- Hillary moving ahead of McCain in this significant fashion would suggest that the rumored divide within the Democratic party where BO supporters won’t vote for Hillary and vice versa appears to be more rumor than fact.
- While slipping a bit, Hillary still has a 5 point lead in a recent poll for Indiana.
- While still down in recent polls, Clinton’s about to get the endorsement of North Carolina’s Governor.
It’s been a lot of fun watching the Democrats squirm and complain about Operation Chaos. I think the Operation has done it’s job. Even without the ongoing support of Operation Chaos valiant men and women Hillary is now assured of staying in the race to the convention or until forced out by a preemptive vote of the Super Delegates. Speaking of which, There is growing concern within Democratic ranks about BO’s electability. We don’t need to be reinforcing the notion of Hillary being more electable in the final primaries.
My hat is off to Rush and the operatives of Operation Chaos. Please welcome the returning operatives with the respect and honor they deserve!
(Update: As of 1:30 Central Time, Rush has called for an operational pause. Stay tuned for further instructions. This has been a public service of your local Operation Chaos outlet.)
I can’t speak for any of the generals, but for me, it’s all about extending the Rat primary fight to August, and making said fight as toxic as possible.
Maybe a Hussein Summer campaign is in order.
I agree. My point is that I think we have enough momentum to get the desired effect. My concern is that we overplay our hand and give Hill and the Supers the ammunition they need to give her the nomination. As fun as it would be to watch the repercussions, I’m afraid we would end up facing what now appears to be the stronger of the two candidates.
Awaiting orders. Rush has the ball, and he has delivered so far. Why stop now? The goal was chaos, not who wins. Does it matter which Marxist wins? Or for that matter which Democrat wins the election?
If we don’t have any stopping power in the House or Senate America’s frog is cooked.
bill-tb…the only quibble I have is that the ultimate goal of operation chaos is to get an R elected. As I noted in an earlier response, I think the momentum is there to acheive the chaos part. However, I ascribe to the theory that until I see the feet curl up under the house, I won’t believe Hillary is dead.
If the Operations Chaos strategy is what most people think it is–creating chaos in and weakening the Democractic Party for the November election; Don’t you think it’s just possible that Rush will direct his operatives and republican voters to support Obama instead of Clinton in Indiana and North Carolina just to change the tide?
Sun Tzu…You may have the right answer. If Obama is really weakening as quickly as some think, we may need to bolster his support lest he bow out too quickly. Then again, short of being caught singing show tunes, naked on the Senate floor, It doesn’t appear there is anything that will embarass Obama, or Hillary for that matter, that would get them to veer from their goal.
El Rushbo has a contingency plan for all scenarios. I personally am not worried. Have faith in the Great MahaRushie!!!
Heh, sure enough, Rush put a halt on Operation Chaos.
While I’m not really convinced that Op Chaos is really as big as Rush & his listeners believe it is, I agree–it’s time for a temporary ceasefire. I don’t want Hill getting too much mo and the superdelegates to start making decisions yet. It’s just impossible to NOT go after Hopey Obama; it’s such a target-rich environment. What’s scary though is I’ve found myself comparing Billary FAVORABLY against him. As in, saying things that should rightfully get my VRWC card revoked. Not often, but even two times is more than I like.
I wonder what Silky Pony’s gonna do. He’s going to be expected to endorse one of those two idiots before the NC election, and I honestly can’t even guess which idiot he’ll pick. There are “good” (relatively speaking) reasons for him to pick each one over the other, and good reasons not to pick either of them. I’m not even sure he’ll have all that much pull anyway, though, or at least not as much as the MSM makes it out to be.
