They’ve progressed well beyond mere blogdom and have become a lively community. Yes, some of the usual suspects there are slightly dysfunctional, but IMHO, that’s what really makes a community (just as long as the dysfunction doesn’t become the community, that is).
It’s a wee bit late for the 2007 Weblog Awards, but I think they could just be nominated for the Best Online Community award in 2008.
Thanks, Steve for your words about FranklinNOW and for keeping an EYE on us! Are we THAT dysfunctional??? Look, we got Keller back, didn’t we???
Free Speech Baby! That’s what it’s all about.

You want dysfunctional? Try Ace of Spades; they’re Dysfunctional with a capital “D” (but in a good, fun way).
Besides, I only said “some” (and I conveniently didn’t mention who the “some” are, though the one that always feels compelled to comment certainly falls under dysfunctional).
I want to be transferred to the Franklin site, the MF one is dull. Although my readership is growing leaps and bounds, the debate is mostly one-sided. Until recently I was the lone voice, the other girl hadn’t blogged since the Brewers were hot this past summer.
The success of Franklin is due to the number of voices and how frequently they post. They’ve done a great job.
Isn’t Franklin really Northern Chicago? ;)
