At least that’s the “unofficially-official” word. The writer’s strike has allegedly pushed back Season 7 to September and Monday Night Football. I feel like my left arm was just cut to force me to let go of Marwan.
NOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!
The repository of one hard-boiled egg from the south suburbs of Milwaukee, Wisconsin (and the occassional guest-blogger). The ramblings within may or may not offend, shock and awe you, but they are what I (or my guest-bloggers) think.

Last month, Radiohead self-released their latest album with a minor twist; fans downloading the mp3-only version got to choose how much, if anything, they paid for the album. Well, the results are in, and it shouldn’t surprise anybody with a tip jar on the side of the blog:
– 62% of those overall, 60% of Americans, and 64% of those outside the US decided that free is free.
– The 36% of those outside the US that paid anything paid an average of US$4.64.
– The 40% of those from the US that paid anything paid an average of $8.05.
At an average of $6.34 per paid purchase, that’s $2.41 per download. Doesn’t sound like much, especially since Apple’s charging $0.99 (or is it up to $1.25?) per song. The usual band would have to book lots of time in a studio, which would seriously eat into the profits. Fortunately for Radiohead, they got enough from their previous albums and tours to have their own home studio, where they recorded most of the work.
Nice to see they appear to have made a new model of the music biz work, even if they won’t get squat from the forthcoming CD release.
News, and probably updates as they come in, at Sheboygan Shenanigans. I will wait until further details come in before shifting the various City of Sheboygan sites off the “Harrassers in government” portion of the blogroll, but they will remain on the “Personal links” portion.
They’ve progressed well beyond mere blogdom and have become a lively community. Yes, some of the usual suspects there are slightly dysfunctional, but IMHO, that’s what really makes a community (just as long as the dysfunction doesn’t become the community, that is).
It’s a wee bit late for the 2007 Weblog Awards, but I think they could just be nominated for the Best Online Community award in 2008.
If it sounds like I’m depressed, I am. The Republican race has turned into the right-of-Communists’ version of Hiliary (with better legs) versus Slick Willie (with better hair), with Rudy Giuliani and Mitt Romney picking up all the endorsements “that matter”.
It remains to be seen whether the endorsement of Giuliani by Pat Robertson will simply be the death knell of social conservatives or the death knell of Republicans as a whole.

I’m sure you’ve heard by now all the bloviating over Pakistani strongman Pervez Musharraf’s declaration of martial law, busting up their Supreme Court and muzzling the Pakistani press. What you’re probably not going to hear from the LeftStream Media is the semi-official reason why – he’s declaring war on Al Qaeda. Supporting that is a report that Pakistan has pulled many of its troops from the Kashmir region.
If this is true and not the same old tightrope walking Musharraf’s done since 2001, it’s a big development. Much of Pakistan’s elite, namely the lawyers and the presstitutes, which is caught up in the wake of the martial law, is solidly in the camp of Al Qaeda. Of course, so is Pakistan’s ISI, which is presumably what Musharraf would need to rely on to effectively combat any internal opposition to him.
In any case, it’s more complicated than simply Musharraf wanting to hold onto power, though that is undoubtedly his main goal.
Jim over at bRight & Early turned me onto Liberty Pundit. I should’ve done this when Sister Toldjah had him guest-blog, but I’m a wee bit dense.
In any case, hopefully you’re not as dense as me, and decide to add him to the roll. Oh, and vote for him in the TTLB Best of the Top 5001-6750 category, as well as the rest of the NRE slate.
