No Runny Eggs

The repository of one hard-boiled egg from the south suburbs of Milwaukee, Wisconsin (and the occassional guest-blogger). The ramblings within may or may not offend, shock and awe you, but they are what I (or my guest-bloggers) think.

The Morni…er, Afternoon Scramble – 9/19/2008

by @ 17:52. Filed under The Morning Scramble.

Yes, I’m late again, and yes, I forgot Open Thread Thursday. Like Jib, I blame RSS feeds for the death of the blogging star…

Seriously, my neck has put me in a house of pain all week, so if you mistakenly hit that video (and even if you didn’t), allow me to give you a palette-cleansing bootleg version of Van Halen’s “House of Pain”…

• Before we start, Vivian Lee reminds us today is National POW/MIA Recognition Day. Never forget.
• James T. Harris explains what Barack Obama has changed. Notably missing from the list is any attempt to change the culture of corruption, either in Springfield or in Washington.
• The focusing Brad V focuses on yet another unexplored friend of Obama. While I’ll leave the juiciest part for Brad to explain, it involves a member of the American Communist Party that Obama called by his first name up through his first autobiography.
• Lao explores the plight of the West Paupans, being repressed by a country where Obama once held citizenship. I’m shocked, SHOCKED to find that “(i)n Indonesia Barack Obama is fast becoming the “Che Guevara” of Indonesia’s young wannabe Islamists.”
• Vasko Kohlmayer explains why Obama is becoming that icon among Islamists. It’s all about the hatred of America.
• Brendan sends Obama back to 1938. I can see the resemblance between Obama and Neville Chamberlain.
• Patrick Ruffini explains why Obama was stupid to belatedly turn down public financing.
• William Teach asks whether Obama will actually reduce taxes. If memory serves, he’s on record as supporting all of the Clinton-era tax rates, which means no more 10% rate.
• Asian Badger calls out all the limousine liberals who buy into Joe Biden’s “patriotic taxes” line.
• Ed Morrissey caught Biden doubling down on that line, deeming ever-higher taxes the “Catholic” thing to do.
• Jim Geraghty found Biden calling being a US Senator easier than being a city common council member. Say, isn’t Biden of retirement age?
• Jim Hoft found an event Biden simply refused to go to – a rally opposing Iranian President Mad Mullah Puppet Mahmoud Ahmadinejad. No word on whether it was for the same reason that Hillary Clinton bailed (she couldn’t bear the thought of Sarah Palin in the same area) or because he supports the Mad Mullahs. Of note, the organizers eventually disinvited Palin.
• JRoosh found the Biden Gaffe Machine doing overtime on AIG.
• John McCormack wraps up the Biden Gaffe Machine.
• John Hawkins does the same for the Obama Gaffe Machine. He could’ve did a top 100 and still not run out of material.
• The Game mourns the death of civility called for by Obama.
• Slublog pictures that death of civility with a classic SluShop.
• David Paulin reports that some Austin ObamiNation Thugs took that death of civility to heart with extreme gusto. It IS a war.
• Josh Schroeder pictures piracy we can believe in. Arrrgh, today is Talk Like A Pirate Day, and if you landlubbers are wondering why I put this in the middle of the Obamination Update, you’ll have to click over, me mateys.
• Dad29 explores the links between Obama, Fannie, Freddie, ACORN, and NACA.
• Cann0nba11 points the coming loss of Obama at Democratic racism. It’s more sexism.
• An anonymous PJM poster sounds the alarm on the effort by the Civil Rights Division of the Justice Department to throw the election to Obama.
• Ed Morrissey notes that only one Presidential candidate was on top of the Freddie/Fannie mess 3 years ago – John McCain.
• Bonus Freddie/Fannie coverage – Good Lt. points out that President Bush was on top of the mess back in 2003. Unfortunately, Congress got in the way of both efforts. Gee, I wonder why </sarcasm>.
• Even more bonus Freddie/Fannie coverage – Mike follows the Fannie/Freddie money in multimedia form to answer why Congress got in the way.
• One more Freddie/Fannie item before we go back to the Presidential race – S. Weasel pictures the Fannie ‘Rat ATM.
• Soren Dayton explains why Minnesota, which last went for a Republican in 1972, is in play.
• How much in play? Jim Geraghty has the details with the Big Ten poll.
• Tom McMahon 4-blocks the Russian relationships with Palin and Georgia.
• Dave Casper asks why Palin’s family is a presstitute target while Rep. Gwen Moore’s (D-WI) family isn’t, especially considering her son helped get her into Congress by slashing the tires on vans rented by the GOP for transport of voters to the polls in 2004. Silly goose; that’s just “community organizing” on the part of Supreme Solar Allah </sarcasm_dripping>.
• Kathryn Jean Lopez asks why the News Organization That Cannot Be Quoted™ won’t cooperate in the probe into the hacking of Palin’s personal e-mail account.
• Ken Shepherd found that News Organization That Cannot Be Quoted™ covering for Biden’s tax gaffe.
• Jim Geraghty found that bias extends to quotations in the Washington Post.
• Sister Toldjah tracked yesterday’s round of Presstitute Bias.
• Mary Katharine Ham asks, “How low have we sunk?” Not as low as the presstitutes; while 55% say the tone of this campaign hasn’t changed, 79% say the presstitutes focus on the negative.
• How low for the media? Jon Ham found the WaPo channeling “Animal House”. Who here thought the presstitutes wouldn’t turn on their former favorite “Pubbie”? Anyone? Bueller?
• Even more bonus Geraghty – he found the LeftStreamMedia multiplying the false cries of racism from the ObamiNation.
• Name That Party, Part I – Ace asks the party of F. Allen Boyd Jr (D-FL), whose son was busted for smuggling illegal aliens and amphetamines into the country.
• Name That Party, Part II – Lawhawk asks the party of New York State Sen. Kevin Parker (D), who was busted for assaulting someone at his office.
• Name That Appointer – Warner Todd Huston found a brand-new wire service fitting right in with the whitewashing of ‘Rat invovlement in embarrassing situations, ignoring the fact that federal Judge Thomas Porteous, who is in line to be the first federal judge to be impeached in 20 years, was a Clinton appointee whose history of wire fraud (the latest episodes are why he is under the current gun) was known to the Clinton administration prior to his appointment.
• Austin Bay asks the trillion dollar question; how can investigative journalism be profitable in the age of the Internet.
• The Unreal one has one way that it won’t be. Do note the focus of MSNBC.com on his screencap.
• Okay; back to pure politics – Gary Gross found precious little difference between the Blue Dog ‘Rats and the envirowhackos of the bunch. Color me shocked, SHOCKED!
• David St. Lawrence defines astroturfing.
• Lawhawk caught the ‘Rats admitting they’re clueless on the economy. They’re not quite clueless, though their “fix” of socializing even more than what Bush is socializing is worse than doing nothing.
• Jon Henke offers advice to the Pubbies on tax messaging. My advice – TAKE IT!
• Brian Fraley states that we the people of Wisconsin got taken to the cleaners in the deal between the Jim “Craps” Doyle (WEAC/PotawatomiHo-Chunk-For Sale) administration and the Ho-Chunk on gaming.
• Rick Esenberg outlines how government regulation gave us the economic crisis.
• John Hawkins just says “NO!” to more bailouts. Amen.
• Jim Geraghty wonders how 61% of Americans think we are in either a recesion or a depression. Answer – presstitutes echoing the every-4-years line from the ‘Rats that we’re in the Worst Economy Since The Depression EVAH!!!11!!!eleventy!!1!™. I can’t wait until the annual growth is 1%, like Obama economic advisor Warren Buffet wants <sarcasm_extreme>.
• Daniel caught Rep. Steve Kagen (D-WI) being in “favor” of drilling before he was against it. Well, he is a ‘Rat who is part of the 9% approval Congress.
• Amanda Carpenter is ready to declare victory in Drill Here, Drill Now as the ‘Rats won’t renew the ban before they bail on September 26. Of course, if Obama wins, it will be a very-temporary victory as everything will likely get shut down next year.
• Cuffy Meigs brings bad news from North Korea – they may well have a missile that can reach the West Coast.
• Roger W. Gardner explores the ignored role Iran had in 9/11. It isn’t the first time Iran and Al Qaeda worked hand in hand; they jointly pulled off the bombing of the Khobar Towers.
• John McAdams has the latest episode of liberal bias indoctrination in academia.
• Lady Logician has the latest step toward “Soylent Green” – some nutbag in the UK saying those with dementia have a “duty to die” to end their burden on CubaCare-Britain. If we get either CubaCare-Wisconsin (aka “Healthy” and Depopulated Wisconsin) or CubaCare-US, look for that here.
• I can’t end a massive catch-up Scramble without some lighter stuff – Dan Deibert likes the German word for “tramp stamp”. Since the translation won’t make it through Townhall’s filters, you’ll have to head over to Dan’s place for that.

Did I mention how glad I am I have Shoebox to bail me out lately?

The Morni…er, Afternoon Scramble – 9/17/2008

by @ 13:09. Filed under The Morning Scramble.

I’ve been busy and out of energy since I got back from Phoenix, so this one’s going to be a bit slow and short (as well as late)

• Jim Geraghty read my mind on the Wisconsin portion of the election.
• Owen caught DPW chair Joe Wineke admitting that fraud is part of the ‘Rat strategy in Wisconsin.
• More of the Indispensible One – Jim Geraghty explodes the myth of the pollsters missing something with cell-phone only folks.
• Ari Kaufman makes the case that this election is really no different than any other. Well, except for this potentially being the final firewall betweeen us and one-party socialism (read, Communism), I’d agree.
• Rick Esenberg continues the theme of the new boss being the same as the old boss.

Executive decision; since the same happened in Chicago last night, and because I missed yesterday, I owe you a second song.

• Trail-Mix tracks the money spent by Fannie and Freddie to protect their golden parachutes. Yes, they are a pair of ‘Rat-leaning organizations; 57% of their donations went to the party of surrender and socialism.
• Donna Martinez has the jaw-dropping attack on Christianity news of the day – the rosary is now considered a “gang” symbol. No word on whether the burka (the camouflage of choice of Islamokazis) will similarily be considered a “gang” symbol.
• Fred says to follow the money on the Gorebal “Warming” racket.
• Scott compares Barack Obama to FDR and finds the former falls short.
• Bill Quick found yet another PUMA jumping ship. I disagree with his assessment that it doesn’t matter; with the current “base-only” strategy from the Obama campaign, they need that part of their base to not bolt (besides, the more PUMAs that complete the bolt to the McCain camp, the less likely it will be that we can contain the bad side of John McCain).
• The Game reports that Obama’s Teleprompter now has a seat on the plane.
• Trail-Mix has video of what happens when that Teleprompter goes bad.
• Bruce runs the MasterCard numbers on Obama’s all-star gala fundraiser. He forgot the punchline – There are some things HopeandChange can buy. For everything else, there’s Reality.
• Jim Hoft reports that the battleground states are starting to break John McCain’s way. Could that trend, and the presstitutes’ unwillingness to accept that the people are rejecting their annointed one, be why I haven’t seen any new polling in Wisconsin lately, or could the pollsters be as cynical as Geraghty and I are?
• Richard Baehr runs down the battleground states one by one.
• Kate pictures the humor of our troops. I got a very good laugh out of the minesweeper one.
• CDR Salamander takes the three-day view on a proper response to an Iranian attempt to shut down the Strait of Hormuz. I STRONGLY recommend you also read the comments; he continues his trend of drawing very insightful commentary.

Too much to do, too little energy to do it. I still have to complete my dig through the No-Drill bill, there’s some comparisons between 2004 and 2008 that will likely take a few more days, and I have a dig-and-hack to do on the successful attempt to weasel a “Healthy” (and Depopulated) Wisconsin referendum on the Oak Creek ballot. Short version; it was a malformed direct “legislation” attempt that, despite the legal misgivings of both the city attorney and mayor (who both actually support socialized medicine), was sent to the ballot in part because of some blustery lies from the outfit attempting to push the $30 billion tax increase.

The Morni…er, Afternoon Scramble (part 2) – 9/15/2008

by @ 15:08. Filed under The Morning Scramble.

Since I’ve been a bit absent lately, here’s part 2.

• Charlie Sykes says, “Send an e-mail for McCain.”
• Allahpundit explains why John McCain doesn’t do e-mail.
• Charles Henricksen found Pravda disapproving of Sarah Palin, and the DUmmies nodding approvingly at their master.
• The Pheisty Joey dug into Troopergate and found an overprotective union.
• Ed Morrissey found evidence the state with the longest ‘Rat streak (1976 and counting) is a battleground.
• Mike Pechar mourns the latest episode in the Death of the British Empire, the granting of full legal recognition of Sharia law.
• Grim talked Marine recruitment with Maj. Gen. (sel) Robert E. Milstead, Commanding General, Marine Corps Recuriting Command. It is interesting to see the state-by-state map pretty much mirror the electoral map of the last 2 elections, and that it’s the upper-middle class that really wants to be Marines. No wonder the ‘Rats want to destroy the upper-middle class.
• Pam has today’s “Most (Un)ethical Congress Evah!” update – fresh from finding out Charlie Rangel has even more tax errors, Nancy Pelosi won’t do anything. I’m not surprised; after all, she still accepts William “The Freezer” Jefferson.
• Lawhawk defines “progressive ‘family values'”.
• CDR Salamander is shocked, SHOCKED that UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon was shocked, SHOCKED the UN is corrupt.
• Owen found a semi-sarcastic reason Republicans exist.
• Shoebox found a protein gap between conservatives and liberals. Weebork includes today’s vocabulary lesson. Now, where did I put that HamNation?
• Fred tries to understand the failure of Wisconsin’s Government “Accountability” Board to question the multitude of questionable new-and-changed voter registrations in the face of fresh evidence Obama-aligned ACORN is creating fraudulent new voter registrations. Allow me to explain – they owe their jobs to early Obama-endorser Jim “Craps” Doyle (WEAC/Potawatomi-For Sale), and he has an election to guarantee for Obama.
• Stix found a common thread among the 10 poorest large cities; a lack of Republican mayoral leadership. Guess which city is #8 on that list?
• Mary Katharine Ham wonders why the envirowhackos are opposed to “subsistence hunters struggling to live sustainable lives in tiny carbon footprints, as Gaia intended”. Since The Weekly Standard still doesn’t allow comments, I’ll have to answer that here; they get lost at “hunters”.
• Asian Badger praises the Fed for not bailing out Lehman Brothers, Merrill Lynch and AIG. Do note his long-term view.
• The letter-writing Brad V. found Google looking to relocate to a barge to avoid taxes. Yep, they’re acting just like a limousine liberal.
• Jon Ham discovered a HUD-supported housing complex banning the display of American flags inside the residences.
• This last item’s old, but still timely – Dave describes his landing a jet in the middle of Tropical Storm Hanna. I’ll bet the Sam Adams crew wished they had Dave for their rather-hard landing at Midway Saturday (my landing at O’Hare was a bit later and a lot smoother).

The Morni…er, Afternoon Scramble (part 1) – 9/15/2008

by @ 13:31. Filed under The Morning Scramble.

I’m back, tanned, not-quite-rested, and ready. Of course, if I were still in Phoenix instead of cool-and-just-now-drying-out Milwaukee, this wouldn’t be an afternoon version.

There’s too much goodness for a one-parter today, but let’s start anyway.

• Eric Odom lifts the veil of censorship from the Charlie Gibson/Sarah Palin interview.
• Jon Ham compares the questions Palin got from Gibson to those Barack Obama got from him. I’m shocked, SHOCKED to find Gibson a card-carrying member of the ObamiNation.
• C. Edmund Wright found a “Gibson Bounce”. I guess physics does apply to politics now and again; something about actions and reactions.
• Jim Hoft caught CBS trying to simultaneously claim credit for and kill Palinmania.
• How bad is the presstitute hatred of Palin? John McAdams found a Hillary Clinton strategist to explain. PUMAs forever!
• Kyle Maichle remembers the old NBC logo, and assigns attributes to all 11 feathers of that peacock.
• Clarice Feldman wonders when the presstitutes will go explore Obama’s “dark years”. Don’t hold your breath wondering how Obama got into Pakistan when it was under Sharia law and a major exporter of heroin, or how he and his drug-using friend lied on a rent application to get an apartment after that trip.
• Speaking of Pakistan, lawhawk will be “thanking” the New York Times if Al Qaeda and its affiliated groups manage to launch an attack while using Pakistan as a cover.
• RAG found some interesting turf wars betweeen the NYT and the Washington Post over Palinmania.
• Jon Ray reports that Google is still continuing its harrassment of anti-Obama blogs.
• Jim Geraghty wonders why nobody wants to travel with Joe Biden. If the presstitutes weren’t experts at story fabrication and ignoring, I would say that they didn’t want to be forced into reporting on the Human Gaffe Machine.
• After all, they don’t want to catch nuggets like this – Michelle Malkin caught Biden playing the race card. I note that Michelle’s source was a local newspaper, not one of the few remaining national presstitutes sticking it out with Plugs.
• Christopher Alleva found two pieces of evidence of the waning ObamiNation – the crowds are shrinking and the coverage of said shrinkage is disappearing from the front page.
• Jim Geraghty lobs the launched stone of “lack of openness” right back at the Obama/Biden tinted-glass campaign. Remind me to wear shoes; I don’t think I can recover from a glass shard almost all the way through the foot in 24 hours like I used to be able to do.
• Matt Wolking chronicles the decline and fall of the positive portion of HopeAndChange.
• Rick Moran answers the question of why HopeAndChange appears under the wheels of the Obamination Express.
• Zip caught Obama trying to mess up Return-On-Success. Guess it truly is Retreat To Defeat At All Costs for Obama and the DhimmiRATs.
• Jeff Wagner asks who is having a worse September; Obama or the Milwaukee Brewers. Well, I’ve never seen Brewers manager Ned Yost and Obama campaign manager David Axelrod in the same room together.
• Brendan has the latest photo of the Obamination Express, Water Edition.
• Ed Morrissey runs the numbers on Obama’s $66 million in/$55 million out month.
• The letter-writing Brad V. wonders where the Wisconsin Presidential polls are. If I didn’t think Obama would take the state by hook and by crook, I’d be asking as well.
• Cuffy Meigs finds the ObamiNation targeting satirists. Somebody send out the WAAAAAAAAH!-mbulance for the whiners.

Part 2 will be up shortly (I hope).

The Morning Scramble – 9/12/2008

by @ 9:28. Filed under The Morning Scramble.

I don’t have my Scramble song list to see if I duplicated this one, so sue me if I duplicate things…

Despite the fact I haven’t had a “regular” Scramble since Monday, this one’s going to be limited and in no particular order. FeedDemon’s giving me all sorts of grief on the laptop today, and those crazy Libertarians from Reason had a late-night open bar last night I couldn’t miss (they had me at “open bar”).

• Before I begin, a PSA from John Little – he rebroadcasts a very grim warning for those who are stupid enough to stay in Hurricane Ike’s path.
• Patrick pictures the S.S. Hope and Change. Yep, she’s doing down by the stern.
• Paul Socha questions the Milwaukee Elections Commission’s decision to use Tuesday’s partisan primary election to make a massive same-day registration drive at UWM. I am not amused, especially since gerrymandering puts the UWM campus on Milwaukee’s Upper East Side in the same state senate district as me in Oak Creek via the Jones Island sewage treatment plant.
• Bruce explores the multiple links between Barack Obama and convicted tire-slasher-for-political-advantage Sowande A. Omokunde, who just happens to be the son of Congresswoman Gwen Moore (D-WI). I guess Supreme Solar Allah was just doing some late-night “community organizing” when he ensured his mother’s ascention to Congress and John Kerry’s win in Wisconsin in 2004 </sarcasm>.
• Dad29 reports Wisconsin’s Attorney General J.B. Van Hollen (the only Republican to take a statewide/Congressional office away from the ‘Rats in 2006, if memory serves) is suing the Government “Accountability” Board for not checking voter registration records entered prior to August 6, 2008 against drivers’ license records as required by federal law. I’ll remind you that, while the GAB did check records entered between 8/6/2008 and the end of August this year, they’re not going to do anything about it. Do not miss Dad29’s takeaway line.
• Zip is shocked, SHOCKED that Google ignored 9/11. I’m not surprised; they ignored Memorial Day as well, and their motto should be Don’t Be Evil Conservative or patriotic.
• John notes that even Microsoft (yes, that EEEEEEEVIL Microsoft) had more sense than Google. I’ll point out that they also had more sense than Yahoo, but if memory serves, Yahoo doesn’t celebrate leftists’ birthdays.
• James Wigderson got a hold of an e-mail on how the local paint-catcher planned on burying the expansion of the news that out-of-state gay rights activists are pumping money to buy the last piece of Wisconsin’s government not under ‘Rat control.
• Moe Lane caught the ‘Rats trying to fix the election on the federal level. Well, they nominated a typical Chicago pol and one of the most-ossified members of Congress to be their standard-bearers, so of course they’ll pull Chicago Machine tactics to win by every nefarious means possible.
• Headless Blogger wonders just how in Sam Hill Wisconsin could have over 1 million new registrations among 4.25 million adults in less than three years. I actually account for two of them with a pair of moves, though each time I changed my registration (at the city clerk’s office and nowhere near election day), I specifically instructed the clerk to remove the old record.
• Lance Burri goes into the numbers behind Toofer Kevin Barrett’s Libertarian primary win in Wisconsin’s 3rd Congressional District. I don’t know what’s scarier; that Barrett won the primary on a Toofer platform, or that less than 1 voter per precinct decided that election.
• Jon Ham deconstructs Charlie Gibson’s and the LeftStreamMedia’s attempted ambush of Sarah Palin last night. I know I put out a call for somebody to DVR it, and I know Shoebox has it on DVR, but now I need a way to get it.
• MataHarley found absolutely, positively no “cone of silence” around Obama last night. Once again, that proves how bad Obama is without somebody spoon-feeding him answers (I won’t mention that those he chooses to spoon-feed said answers are just as bad).
• Jon Ham found that the envirowhackos have discovered jury nullification. It’s now a race to see whether Eurabia enters the 13th or 8th Century (or at least the 8th without the one French win).
• Sister Toldjah wonders how today’s Left would have dealt with FDR. I wonder if his Communistic tendencies would outweigh his “warmongering”, praying ways in their eyes.
• Mary Katharine Ham reports on the dedication of the Pentagon 9/11 memorial. For those tracking the bouncing ball that MKH has become, she is now part of the Weekly Standard crew (site note; since the DC Examiner emptied out Ham Blog, I pulled it from the temporarily-shrunken roll).
• John Hawkins lists the top 7 reasons conservatives love Palin.
• Owen is taking volunteers to do what the GAB and county clerks won’t; check the rolls.
• Mary caught the Washington Post in full PDS mode.
• Jeff Dufour and Patrick Gavin find it’s not easy for the ‘Rats to be green. They forgot that “being green” is for us little people while the apparachniks live high on the hog.
• GayPatriotWest chronicles Joe Biden’s Greatest Gaffes, August/September 2008 Edition.
• Kat found the original Al Qaeda in “a world of hurt”. I caution that they’re still franchising, and if we let up now, the fight won’t be far from our shores but on our soil.
• Shoebox points out the fight on drilling is about to shift to the Senate and the Gang of 10 16. DRILL BABY, DRILL!
• Mary notes the Obama campaign will officially join in their surrogates’ slime. Doesn’t surprise me; after all, they have a middle to turn off to politics.
• John Washburn reports that local election officials are taking the half-mile given to them by the GAB and stretching it to a mile to prevent effective citizen oversight of the election process. Worse, that’s not in Milwaukee, or Racine, or Madison, or another bastion of Wisconsin vote fraud.
• Fausta has the latest example of why The News Organization That Cannot Be Quoted™ doesn’t want its headlines quoted.
• Mary Katharine Ham tracks the rest of the Palin/Gibson interview headlines.

The Morning Scramble/Open Thread Thursday – 9/11/2008

As Shoebox said, “Never forget!”

Since I’m on the road (specifically at the State Policy Network 16th Annual Meeting in Scottsdale, Arizona), I won’t have the ability to keep up with the list of tributes. Fortunately, silent E started the list (don’t forget to read his tribute, and he’ll keep up. I’ll dispense with the usual summaries today, and just point you to the tributes, rememberances, and thoughts he didn’t catch yet (I’ll warn the sensitive that some may be on the firebrand side; honestly, I believe they have a place as well because this is a war of survival that was driven here 7 years ago today).

Do read as many of the tributes of the 2,996 that died at the World Trade Center as you can.

Sorry, no Scramble today

by @ 17:22. Filed under The Morning Scramble.

My feed reader’s suffering from terminal stupidity (on my part; I thought I could flag more items than it would let me flag), we’re within 2 hours of Drinking Right, I still have the Drill Here, Drill Now Tuesdays post to pump out, and I’m headed out to Phoenix tomorrow for SamSphere/Phoenix and the 16th State Policy Network annual meeting (thanks, Fred and E.M.). I had a killer Scramble too. Oh well; it happens. The least I can do is give you the song.

The Morning Scramble – 9/8/2008

by @ 12:01. Filed under The Morning Scramble.

It wasn’t a good sports Sunday (Brewers got crushed, my picks against the line got crushed, and the late games crushed my straight-up picks). Throw in a chilly, cloudy and now rainy morning, and it’s a blue day at the bunker.

• Bull Dog Pundit has the extended transcript of Barack Hussein Obama II’s latest religious gaffe as former Bill Clinton aide George Stephanopolous wasn’t buying some serious whining from Obama.
• Shoebox found the responsibilities of a Community Organizer, Chicago Division. I’m shocked, SHOCKED to find that they’re bailing crooks out of jail and helping illegal aliens scam the welfare state.
• Ed Morrissey caught Obama admitting his tax hikes are bad for the economy. Then again, I doubt he cares, as his overriding tax message is, “Soak the rich”, and his economic guru, Warren Buffet, wants the GDP to grow only 1% annually.
• Charles Henrickson found the DUmmies in full panic mode and suggesting the contemporaneous-challenged Obama go to Alaska for a no-script townhall meeting. PLEASE!
• Why are they panicking? The Wide White Joey tracks the McCain/Palin bounce. Oh yeah; that USA Today poll lead goes to 10 once only likely voters are counted.
• Dad29 and Jim Hoft smack Joe Biden around on his inconsistencies on abortion.
• Gawfer reminds the ‘Rats who threw out the flags after the cameras were turned of flag protocol.
• More follies caught by Ed Morrissey – he caught David Axelrod admitting that the ‘Rat definition of “bipartisanship” is “doing what the ‘Rats want”. Three phonetic letters will server as the substitue for my reaction to that definition – Foxtrot Tango Sierra.
• Heather Radish found backlash against the LeftStreamMedia in Cedarburg Friday. It was long overdue.
• Lawhawk found the Gorebal “Warming” acolytes advocating mandating their vegan diet on everybody.
• Owen delivers the two-letter answer. Since this is a Moronblog, I need to append an expletive on that – HELL NO!
• Dad29 delivers a message to the captain of the HMS Goretanic.
• Ace broke out the ever-funny headline for the now-reported likely death of Grade A Traitor Islamokazi Adam Gadahn. Since it’s Ace, and we Morons are in full attendance at the wake party, do use discretion on joining in (i.e. make sure the boss joins in as well).
• Bull Dog Pundit sounds the bail-out alarm for the Big 3 automakers. We did bail out Chrysler once already.
• Eddiebear discovered a potential new drink of the Moronosphere – bacon-flavored vodka.

Fortunately, Fred has a reason to not be so glum about tomorrow (at least if the Packers’ D and Darren McFadden come through for me and Greg Jennings doesn’t for him).

The Morning Scramble/Open Thread Thursday – 9/4/2008

It may be Thursday, but the NFL season starts tonight. There is but one song for this…

Actually, it’s a two-song, no blues allowed Scramble (thanks for the reminder, Shoebox, and it fits so well with today’s Day by Day cartoon)…

Before we begin, Alexander has a PSA for you – donate blood.

• Turk has the best of the Little Known Facts Tweet-A-Thon.
• Eric Erickson has another Little Known Fact; Sarah Palin doesn’t need a Teleprompter to deliver a devastatingly-good speech.
• Jim Geraghty suggested a killer line to Palin. I guess if The Indispensible One asks Palin to co-blog with him, I’ll definitely lose out in the co-blogging wars. Maybe if Shoebox did the asking,….
• Ed Morrissey found signs of fight in the PUMAs.
• Jim Hoft notes it wasn’t your average CodePinko that was PWN3D! when she tried to bum-rush the stage last night, but a Top 500 Obamination Bundler.
• More Jim Hoft and CodePinko – he crashed one of their rallies with more success. I believe that makes the score Gateway Pundit 1, CodePinko 0.
• Back to Ed Morrissey – he summarizes the Team Obama response – “Mom! Mom! Sister hit me back "¦ and she hits too hard for a girl!” (emphasis in the original)
• Gopfolk offers some free advice to Team Obama. Money says they don’t take it.
• William Amos rolls tape on Joe Biden’s latest pandering to the nutroots. Hmmm, I thought the tickets were supposed to move toward the middle in the general. Besides, if memory serves, Biden chose to place Bill Clinton above the law along with every other ‘Rat Senator back in 1999.
• One more Ed Morrissey morsel – he discovered some rotting words from Biden on his former support for drilling. Guess we have to extend Jim Geraghty’s Maxim on Obama’s words to Biden’s – All statements from The Blunder Twins have an exipration date.
• Dad29 found the 52nd state of the ObamiNation – Denial. I forgot to mention yesterday that he also found the 51st – Panic. I humbly submit the 53rd – Desperation.
• Darryl Enriquez found just how touchy the ObamiNation is in Waukesha; they can’t even handle gentle jabs. Somebody please dispatch a WAHHHH-mbulance.
• Speaking of WAHHHHH-mbulances, William Teach orders one for Joe Klein, who can’t handle the blowback.
• Speaking of PWNAG3, Asian Badger found Megyn Kelly delivering the smackdown on US Weekly editor Bradley Jacobs’ candy-arse.
• Jihad Gene tapped Krazy Kim Jong-Il’s phone again and recorded a 3 am call.
• Staying with North Korea, Tom McMahon discovered a North Korean claim of a high-calorie ramen noodle. I’ll bet the EU won’t be complaining about genetically-modified foodstuffs.
• Cuffy Meigs found the Atlantic Fleet gained a Ballistic Missile Defense destroyer. The score is now PacFlt 16, LantFlt 1. Keep them coming.
• Chris the head barkeep found today’s Mr. No Luck Guy – someone at the WSOP Main Event who went all-in on 4 aces and got knocked out by a royal flush. Maybe he’ll want to tune in later today; after all, I was above .500 against the spread last year.
• Jeni brings the Envirowhacko Update of the Day – the Swedes have outlawed catch-and-release fishing. That’s it; I’m declaring war on Sweden on behalf of all fishermen.

I’ll have the ever-popular (or at least ever-goofy) NFL picks up later, and I’ll be live-blogging the McCain acceptance speech (or the first game of the NFL season, whichever is more interesting). Until then, the thread is yours.

The Morning Scramble – 9/3/2008

by @ 9:53. Filed under The Morning Scramble.

I’m on-time (I think)…

• Thomas Lifson describes why the America run by the presstitutes won’t be able to take down Sarah Palin.
• Cynical Alaskan explains how Palin has handled corruption. The takeaway – “In 2012 she will be President.”
• Ragnar wants the DUmmies and KOmmies to keep bashing themselves against the rock.
• Kate pictures the difference in experience between Palin and Joe Biden.
• Dad29 explains why there is Palin Derangement Syndrome.
• Jim Hoft found Barney Frank (D-MA, he of a prostitute ring out of his apartment fame) declaring Palin’s family fair game. Did he really want to go there?
• Geoff answers why Frank shouldn’t have gone there.
• LBG found an unusual alliance formed by the emergence of PDS – PUMAs and the VRWC.
• Michelle Malkin describes the four stages of conservative female abuse.
• Erick Erickson found the “Party of Privacy” invading Palin’s privacy so much that the portion of Palin’s Social Security number that is hardest to get is now out there.
• More Michelle Malkin – she found the “Kossified MSM” dipping into the classic “a cut in the rate of increase of spending on social programs is a cut even if it’s a threefold increase” jar in their attempts to slime Palin. While the presstitutes are a wholly-owned subsidiary of Kos and Soros (more on that in a bit), it’s hardly a new tactic of the mathematically-challenged Left.
• Jim Geraghty found a key difference between Teams McCain and Obama; marketing their seconds. I only hope that the last item was put in at the suggestion of Mrs. Geraghty.
• Gaius noticed somebody missing from the blogosphere. He’s not dead, he’s not even resting, but he’s not the top-of-the-Scramble focus anymore.
• Mike found a direct link between Barack Obama and R. Hunter Biden (son of Joe Biden and ethically-challenged lobbyist). Again, I ask, “Did Barney Frank really want to go there?”
• Jim Geraghty found Team Obama forgetting who their running mate’s son is. What else should we expect from a campaign so threatened by its running mate, it offers no merchandise featuring that running mate?
• One more from Geraghty – he caught that forgotten ‘Rat running mate forgetting where the top of his ticket lives. Welcome to the Swimmer/CNN Osama bin Obama Club, Plugs.
• Mark McNally turns the tables on those calling for Palin’s head by asking when Biden will drop out.
• Thomas Sowell explodes the “experience” meme.
• Mark Hemingway found another item tossed under the Obamination Express – the ‘Rat evangelical outreach. I’m shocked, SHOCKED that someone who supports actual infanticide and who believes babies are a punishment would give a giant Foxtrot Yankee to those that choose life.
• Patrick dips back into the memory vault to remind us just how much Obama hates life for the unborn and those too stubborn to accept their murder.
• Swint reminds us that both halves of the ‘Rat ticket opposed the means that allowed us to hand over day-to-day control of Iraq’s Anbar province to the Iraqis.
• John Hawkins explains why Obama hasn’t pulled ahead.
• Slublog compares and contrasts the planned actions of Obama on McCain’s nomination night with the actions of McCain on Obama’s nomination night. It figures that “hubris” is one of the 9 reasons highlighted by John Hawkins.
• Faith Ammen wonders where the “first term” modifier the LeftStreamMedia loves to toss around Palin’s neck is for Obama. After all, he has never, ever run for re-election.
• JammieWearingFool found the ObamiNation ready to wage a race war if the “post-racial” candidate doesn’t win. Bonus – he wonders which side Obama will fight for.
• Owen caught Wisconsin Gov. Jim Doyle using a state aide to write his DNC speech. Since Doyle controls the continued employment by the state of all 6 members on the Government “Accountability” Board, I expect nothing more than a 6-0 whitewashing should things get that far, and further expect GAB counsel Jonathan Becker to be unemployed very soon.
• Martin illustrates that identity politics is all about the Marxism. That’s not entirely accurate; it’s a battle between the Trotskyites and the Stalinites (your guess on which are the PUMAs and which are the ObamiNation is as good as mine).
• James T. Harris asks a “what-if” question more geared toward those of us in Wisconsin, but very applicable for the rest of the country. I’ll say this; had Obama had more seasoning in the Illinois State Senate, he would in all likelyhood truly be the tollbooth-land version of former Wisconsin State Senator Gary George (D-Milwaukee Grafton), felon.
• Charles Johnson confirms that the presstitutes are now wholly-owned subsidiaries of Kos and Soros.
• Amy wonders where the coverage of the anarkids’ assault on the Twin Cities has gone.
• Emperor Misha I went into the bumper sticker business with the failure of Hurricane Gustav to repeat Katrina, and the disappointment of the Left.
• Shoebox explains energy mathematics to the four-year-olds.
• Ramesh Ponnuru has some bad economic news for the ‘Rats and Warren Buffet – Inflation-adjusted median family income was at an all-time high in 2007. Why doesn’t it feel that way? I blame ‘Rat-induced taxes and ‘Rat-induced energy inflation.
• Frank Lasee proves there is no real link between education spending and education results. Takeaway – despite a 0.37% drop in enrollment between 2000 and 2006 (the last year he has figures), there are 1.10% more teachers.
• Bill Quick chronicles the latest effort of Google’s attempt to take over the world from above; snagging exclusive rights on another photosat.

Guess I better start shopping for a new desktop; this thing is starting to freeze on me.

The Morni..er, Afternoon Scramble – 9/2/2008

by @ 13:45. Filed under The Morning Scramble.

Sorry about missing yesterday; I was still wiped out from my 700-mile bonzai run to Centerfield for the Grizzly Groundswell pre-convention party, where I finally met Shoebox, ran into Fausta and Eric (along with the Chicago Cannonball) again, and met Stix, Cyberpastor and Mrs. CP, and the gang from Grizzly Groundswell. Somehow, I didn’t get the word to guide Sean Hackbarth into the fun until after I was on the way back home; sorry about that.

In any case, that’s not why I’m running today’s song; it’s because see-dubya (who I’ve called “The Super Sub” for his guest-blogging stints on Hot Air and Michelle Malkin’s site) is hanging up his blogging spurs…

At least it was morning when I started this. You don’t want to know how many posts I went through to get to these.

• Jon Ham noted Sarah Palin, when offered an American flag to sign, signed the pole instead of the flag. If I weren’t already sold on her, that would’ve completed the sale.
• Ed Morrissey found the first female VP nominee calling Palin’s pick “historic”.
• John Hawkins explains why Palin was a “brilliant choice”.
• Selwyn Duke questions the wisdom of the pick (and that was before the Bristol Palin pregnancy became known).
• Speaking of that, Dr. Melissa Clouthier has the definitive wrap.
• BrewFan summarizes my thoughts on that.
• Tom McMahon expands the 4-Block World by 2 to explain the not-so-hypothetical.
• Uncle Jimbo reminds us that it is Alaska’s National Guard that’s running the ABM missiles poised to protect the US from missile attack. Care to guess their commander-in-chief is?
• Lance Burri and Jim Hoft report from the front lines of the protestors anarchists that have descended on the Twin Cities like locusts.
• Pam found some wayward protestors. It’s a shame the St. Paul police didn’t point them in the general direction of the Mississippi and invite them to jump in.
• Allahpundit found PUMAs continuing to desert the Obamination Express.
• Jim Geraghty is wondering if the Obamination Express will borrow from New Jersey. While they may yet dump Plugs, there’s no way they’ll get the head PUMA back up off the jungle floor.
• Ace laughs at the Obamination Express’ attempt to make experience matter.
• Bull Dog Pundit cheers the “experience” trap ensaring the bus. Guess that calls for a 2-song Scramble…

• RightwingSparkle has the latest Obamination Express sticker.
• Heather Radish crunches the numbers on small-town America.
• Ace found that Joe Biden, noted Mad Mullah cheerleader, told the Israelis that in the event he becomes Vice President, Iran will become nuclear. Either HopeAndChange doesn’t work on theocratic thugs or the Obamination Express really wants said theocratic thugs to have the weapons capable of igniting their apocalyptic visions (or both).
• Owen isn’t buying the pro-forma denials of the above item.
• Stephan Tawney found Biden unable to stick to his “no political attacks today” call. I’m shocked, SHOCKED that a DhimmiRAT would forget what he said.
• Mark McNally found the PUMA FAQ.
• Mary wonders where all the “free-speech” liberals are. I hate to break the news that they’re not about free speech, but about power by every means possible, especially if it involves hypocrisy.
• Professor Stephen Bainbridge notes there is no Rebel Yell on either ticket.
• Allahpundit notes that, in the event of an Obama win, things will be wide open on the Republican side come 2012 as there won’t be a “next in line” (i.e., no Mitt Romney).
• William Teach found an illegal alien doing two jobs Americans won’t do; working for a ‘Rat as a ranchhand and killing people.
• Michelle Malkin found the pressitutes couldn’t even wait until Palin was on-stage Friday to unleash their sexist insults.
• Allahpundit busts the first lieberal meme about Palin. It was all-too-easy for him because they cut apart his video to spread it.
• Jeni did what Charlie Sykes would call a flagrant act of journalism, went through the donations from Gannett higher-ups, and compared that to Gannet’s “Ethics” policy. I’m shocked, SHOCKED to find out that 30 Gannett bigwigs donated to the Obamination Express.
• Jim Geraghty asks whether the MLSM is just the Kos/Sullivan publicists. The fact that he asked the question ought to be a clue on the answer.
• John juxtaposes the presstitutes’ non-coverage of John Edwards’ love child with the non-stop Palin slams.
• Bill Quick notes that August will be the first month in a century without sunspots. Unspoken scientific fact; the last 3 mini-Ice Ages have been tied to a lack of sunspot activity.
• Fred Keller highlights recent events in the restoration of the Soviet Union.
• The Wisconsin Institute for Leadership held a memorial service for Wisconsin jobs. In the less-than-6-years of the Jim Doyle administration, there have been 4 (5 if the job gets filled) Commerce Secretaries.
• Jib has some odd Greek Wisconsin factoids.
• James Wigderson wonders whether the homosexual crowd is going to be successful in buying Wisconsin like they did Colorado.

Hopefully tomorrow will be better.

The Morning Scramble – 8/29/2008

by @ 8:47. Filed under The Morning Scramble.

I’m not going to try to keep up with all the rumors and counter-rumors on John McCain’s VP announcement, due at 11 am today. It is, however, the final countdown for all but one…

I had to mark a whole lot of items in the overbloated Feed Reader of Doom read so I could fire this one off, recharge the wireless mouse, and set up a live-blog (anticipating kicking that off about 10:45 am), so if this is a bit short, so be it. You’ve been spoiled with the multiparters.

• Plebian went behind the scenes to get the rejected ideas for the Obamination Coronation.
• S. Weasel has the lightning that threatened Stix near the end of last night’s drunkblog.
• Trail-Mix proves we were mishearing Obama’s slogan all along; it’s deceive, not believe
• Jon Ham summarized the speech the way I would have had I not actually been drinking extra-strength beer during that drunkblog.
• Tom McMahon goes back into history to do a comparo between Obama’s campaign and the last one to feature faux Greco-Roman architecture.
• Michelle Malkin has a new nickname for Obama – The Silencer. It’s fitting that Obama’s from the city that gave us Al Capone.
• Sister Toldjah found that Barack Obama is still Barack Obama’s worst enemy.
• Jim Geraghty goes into the recent-memory hole to prove Obama is not ready to have a debate.
• Ed Morrissey says the coronation was for the ‘Rat base. Guess it is a 2-song day after all…

• Speaking of Stix, he found the place for the Sunday bash, as well as his home base for his election coverage – Centerfield at 119 N 4th St in Minneapolis. I will have to cut out early because I’m pretty much persona non grata in the eyes of the “R”NC, and I have to be back in Milwaukee on Monday, but I’m more than game.
• Emperor Misha I found some real police suppression of the press in Denver; they had to protect the identities of the lobbyists paying for the ‘Rat convention and buying a ‘Rat Senate.
• Jim Hoft found that it isn’t just Detroit where Detroit Councilwoman Monica Conyers fights.
• Jon Sanders proves it’s all about the pursuit and maintenance of power for the ‘Rats. Say, there’s a certain warrior “religion” that also sanctions lies in the pursuit and maintenance of power; Islam.
• Chief has time-lapse video of the build-out of the no-Greek-columns RNC convention hall.
• Anwyn is shocked, SHOCKED that the more-overt knitting references are starting to make their way into the descriptions of TV shows. That reference violates Egg’s Rule #352 – Don’t use a thesaurus for the sake of using it.
• Ace notes that if the presstitutes can’t say anything bad about the economy, they won’t say anything at all. After all, a 3.3% annualized GDP growth rate in the second quarter is 230% higher than the official economist of the Obamination Express wants.
• More presstitute follies from Ace – he found that The News Organization That Cannot Be Quoted™ isn’t immune from backlash over their theft of stories and price hikes for republication.
• Fred caught Mad Vlad Putin projecting his naked aggression in Georgia onto the man who thought he saw something good in his eyes. Who knew that the old hand from the KGB was a Leftist? </sarcasm>
• Fred Keller brings back the drive-in. I fondly remember the days of riding into (and later driving into) the 41 Twin (later 41 Twins) before Northwestern Mutual bought the land and started moving their operations out of Milwaukee and into Franklin.
• Larry Sandler found a new destination for Eggs On The Road – Marquette University for a debate on transit between Milwaukee County Executive Scott Walker and Milwaukee Mayor Tom Barret scheduled for 9/9.
• I’ll close out with a story of what a real leader does – Matt Burden relays the previously-untold story of what happened at Eielson Air Force Base when Air Force One made a refueling stop. It’s times like that where I am proud to call George W. Bush my President.

Time to recharge the mouse. I hope it gets some good juice in the next hour and a half.

The Morni…er, Afternoon Scramble/Open Thread Thursday – 8/28/2008

The Beatles described The Blunder Twins ticket perfectly back in the day…

Yes, I’m late, but because it’s Open Thread Thursday, I won’t deliver a lot of links.

• Jett Atwood provides the ‘Toon of the Week™…

Do click for the full-sized version.

• Dad29 wonders about the down-ticket impact of the Obamination Express, and suggests to keep an eye on Wisconsin’s 8th Congressional race.
• Jim Lynch captures another sneak peek at the Obamessiah Greek Temple.
• Jim Geraghty took one for the team last night. He and Mark Hemingway even did a few videos for us.
• Fred invites us to read the real record on Obama. Yes, Geraldine Ferraro was correct.
• More Fred – he exposes what the liberals call “charity” – funneling your money through government so their consciences can be placated.
• Katie Favazza summarizes the case against CubaCare.
• Matt Burden put up some extended thoughts on the Blackfive tour of Blackwater.
• One last Geraghty nugget; he proves that good is bad in the eyes of the ‘Rats. After all, they are the party of “1% GDP growth is good enough”.

I will be live- drunk-blogging the Obamination Coronation tonight, so tune in later.

The Morning Scramble, Part 2 – 8/27/2008

by @ 10:31. Filed under The Morning Scramble.

After all that focus on the Obamination Coronation Dance, you definitely need a break. Before we get to Van Halen, however, there is a must-read from Michael Totten on the Soviet Russian attempt to reabsorb Georgia

• Ed Driscoll saw something very familiar about the McCain 3AM ad. Yep; he cut it back in March.
• John Hawkins polled 67 of us right-of-center bloggers, including Shoebox and me, on our thoughts about potential VP picks for John McCain. I do recommend you read the other 64 blogs that had at least one contributor participate (there’s another blog who had multiple contributors respond).
• RNC Platform, One Step Forward… – Stephen Spuriell (the source for this series unless otherwise noted) reports Drill Here, Drill Now is part of the platform.
• …RNC Platform, One Step Back… – reopening previously-closed resources is off the table because calling for the reopening of the Utah coal reserves would have also reopened ANWR.
• …RNC Platform, One Step Forward… – The “Environmental Protection” portion lost the Gorebal “Warming” portion of its title.
• …RNC Platform, One Step Back… – Sean M. found a portion blaming us eeeeeeevil conservatives for Gorebal “Warming” still in there.
• …RNC Platform, One Step Forward… – Stephen Spuriell found a lack of corn-a-hole mandates.
• …RNC Platform, One Step Back… – the support on the ban of Internet gambling was put back in. As an inveterate gambler, it stinks that I have to go to Vegas to cure my NFL itch (reminder, I’ll be picking every NFL game against the spread again this year and defending my over-.500 record).
• LBG calls for equal treatment of Elizabeth Edwards vis-a-vis Hillary Clinton.
• The Conspiratorial Chris has a contrarian view on presstitute bias; it helps Republicans. Can’t say I agree; they’ll do their best to keep Barack Obama’s flaws buried until after November.
• Teresa notes that even a moderate like Joe Scarborough is unacceptable at the Official Network of the Obamination, MSNBC.
• Bill Quick likes the tune of the death-spiraling finances of New York Times.
• Lawhawk focuses on the politics of the 3 Dems who joined the Gang of 10 16 on “drilling”. The ‘Rats need the issue to go away; it won’t until energy supplies increase dramatically.
• Mark Heuring wonders why Norm Coleman signed on, espeically since one of the aforementioned ‘Rats (Ken Salazar-CO) infamously declared he wouldn’t drill even if gas hit $10/gallon.
• Lady Logician found that denial is a drill in the hands of Nancy Pelosi.
• Dad29 notes a potential problem in Iraq – a return to tribalism.
• Lemur King has the good medical news of the day – a former Israeli paratrooper who has been paralyzed for the last 20 years is walking again thanks to a powered exoskeleton.
• Kate reports the LPGA remembered which country they’re in and will require its members to speak English.

I will not be live-blogging the Brotherhood of NO…er, Democratic National Convention (motto – “One Vision, One Purpose”) again tonight; I will be at a debate between Rep. Jim Sensenbrenner (R-Menomonee Falls) and primary challenger Jim Burkee (the surviving half of the “college professor bipartisan tag-team” challenge) moderated by Owen of Boots and Sabers (in my humble opinion, the premier blog of the Cheddarsphere). I should have audio from that sometime tonight.

The Morning Scramble, Part 1 (Death of the PUMAs Edition) – 8/27/2008

by @ 9:10. Filed under The Morning Scramble.

With the complete rollover of the blaze orange-pantjumpsuit-wearing head PUMA, it’s safe to say that they’re dead (at least until it’s time to push the O’Biden ticket off the ledge so she can run in 2012)…

Once again, this is a two-parter, so if you’re looking for something other than the Obamination Express/Death of the PUMAs, please be patient. That portion will be up shortly. Now, on with the dissection, which is super-sized because I neither put up an open thread nor paid too much attention (I was focused more on the Brewers’ crushing of the Cardinals; sorry about that Jim Hoft and Katie Favazza:

• Slublog sums up the lack-of-unity watch.
• Jim Geraghty counts the ways Hillary Clinton’s been snubbed.
• Lance Burri found more outspoken PUMAs.
• James T. Harris caught Bill Clinton campaigning for the Anybody-But-O’Biden ticket.
• Allahpundit found out S(l)ick Willie will be sliding out of town before the Obamination Coronation ceremony. Believe it, AP; he is truly THAT egotistical.
• Stephen Green answers the question, “What is the difference between a PUMA and a cougar?”
• Kevin McCullough found that 47% of ‘Rat women are PUMAs.
• JammieWearingFool reviews the choices of pantsuits Her Royal Cankleness had to choose from. Surprisingly, there was no Old Crusty Black.
• Sister Toldjah is running a caption contest featuring Barack Obama laughing at the orange pantjumpsuit.
• Slublog noted the only passion Clinton had was when she talked about herself. I’m shocked, SHOCKED that a Clinton would be narcisstic.
• John McCormack noticed something missing from that speech; no love between Clinton and Obama.
• Mike found the signal for the 2012 HRC run. Only if she and her husband can find a way to derail the Obamination Express without getting caught.
• Jim Geraghty is wondering whether Obama is regretting taking Joe Biden as his second. I don’t think he is regretting not having to avoid national parks.
• RightwingSparkle is glad Obama choose poorly and avoided Clinton. Honestly, so am I, though I’m still on board the force-her-down-his-throat bandwagon.
• Taylor Marsh thinks Clinton did too good a job. Not if her goal is to be the 2012 nominee.
• Ed Morrissey calls Clinton the UPS Woman, even as he predicts a 15%-20% “leakage” from her 18 million supporters (that would be 2.7-3.6 million for those mathematically-challenged).
• Shoebox brings back his and my analyses of Clinton’s and Obama’s policy stances and warns John McCain to not depend on the PUMAs come November. After all, it’s an eternity away, and emotion doesn’t last forever.
• Jim Hoft confirms that the emotion is already starting to die.
• Rick Moran identifies old-style Chicago Machine politics in the Obamination Express’ attempt to derail the following ad linking Obama and domestic terrorist/Obama family friend Bill Ayers…

• Michelle Malkin has the response from the target of the intimidation.
• Cuffy Meigs reminds us where the aforementioned domestic terrorist/Obama family friend spent this day 40 years ago; the Chicago Jail.
• Ace found that aforementioned domestic terrorist/Obama family friend claiming his group’s terrorist attacks were “restrained” the same year Obama used his living room to launch his Senatorial campaign.
• Van Helsing points out Biden was the 3rd-most-liberal Senator last year. If only Sheldon Whitehouse weren’t a rookie, he’d probably be on the Obamination Express.
• Amanda Carpenter explores the link between Obama and an Islamist version of Rev. Jeremiah Wright, Dr. Khalid al Mansour.
• JammieWearingFool caught Jimmy “Peanut Farmer” Carter calling Obama a “black boy”. If he weren’t the most-respected ‘Rat not named Obama or Clinton among ‘Rats, he’d be drummed up on racism charges.
• Speaking of intimidation, Pajamas Media has the footage of the assault on Michelle Malkin and friends. I’m shocked, SHOCKED that the police didn’t step in.
• Jim Hoft found Michelle Obama quoting from a primer for radicals the other night.
• Speaking of Chicago Machine politics, Ed Lasky expands on Obama’s extensive use of the Machine.
• Mary noticed something about Wisconsin Governor Jim Doyle’s praise of Obama; the entire Doyle clan didn’t even wait until Obama was a US Senator before endorsing him.
• John Hawkins is running a poll on a nickname for the O’Biden ticket. I like The Blunder Twins.
• The folks at IBD have another good one – Left and Lefter.
• Allahpundit notes Invesco Field is getting a Grecian makeover for the Obamination Express. It fits oh-so-well with the Hydra Slushop.
• Ace has the pics. I wonder if they hired World Wrestling Entertainment, Inc. to build it.

I hope there isn’t a lot of goo oozing out of Denver today; tomorrow is Open Thread Thursday, and I don’t want to have to split that thing up.

The Morning Scramble, Part 2 – 8/26/2008

by @ 9:05. Filed under The Morning Scramble.

We have Hurricane Gustav, and since it’s not an immediate threat to the US (it will be by the end of the week though), let’s break out the Scorpions for the fun portion of the Scramble…

• Matt Lewis reports John McCain is thinking about throwing away the picture-perfect timing of his VP announcement. NOOOOOO!!!!
• Rich Lowry props up Mike Huckabee’s case for VP. Oh HELL NO!
• JammieWearingFool found another potential new player in the McCain Veepstakes – Gen. David Petraeus. I can definitely live with that, especially as we would get the All-Warriors ticket against the All-Gaffe/Rezko/Appeasement/Pacifist ticket.
• Lady Logician delivers today’s history lesson.
• Kate explains politics in a rich-family setting (there is, however, a language warning for a minor expletive near the end).
• Ace reports the New York Times Sedition Slimes Intelligence Wrecking Tour has gone global, as they out Swiss agents who outed various Islamokazi nuclear programs.
• The Borderline Chris has the envirowhacko/Commie quote of the day. Do remember that the Soviets funded the European Green Party.
• Dad29 found some useful idiots in the State Department endorsing the master plan to restore the Soviet Union.
• J.R. Dunn makes the case for a forceful repudiation of the restoration of th Soviet Union.
• Neocon found the Wimpy (the character from Popeye, not the Webster’s definition) Edition of Mad Vlad’s playbook.
• Patrick McIlheran crunches the numbers and finds that boycotting the Islamist portion of OPEC won’t have much of an effect on Al Qaeda and affiliated groups.
• J. Gravelle is running a funny fill-in-the-blank contest – "The officer struck the subject near ______, drove him into ______, where he was found under ______." Do play along, even if he took all the side-splitting ones.
• Benjamin passes the remote so those of us with Time Warner Cable can watch the Big Ten Network. How long before they cave on the NFL Network?
• Thomas Sowell labels his thoughts as “random”. I humbly disagree; they’re brilliant.
• Wendy is running her own DNC convention. If she would only do to her children what the Obamas are doing to theirs, it would get higher ratings.
• Shoebox begins a new feature – Educating Four Year Olds – with a smackdown of Nancy Pelosi’s ideas of Catholic doctrine.
• Patrick found the latest fashion trend; Soviet military uniforms. Well, since Mad Vlad and the State Department are bound and determined to resurrect that failed country from the ash heap of history, it doesn’t surprise me.

If this grows any more, I’m going to have to hire a staff to do this.

The Morning Scramble, Part 1 (‘Rat edition) – 8/26/2008

Michelle Malkin provided the tune for Part 1 with news that Hillary Clinton is letting her delegates go her own way –

Once again, there’s too much goodness out there for a single shot.

• Alice H is providing on-the-scene reports from the Recreate ’68ers. She was in the middle of last night’s tear-gassing.
• Speaking of being in the middle of CHAOS, Jim Hoft reports friend of NRE Michelle Malkin was the target of an ugly midday episode.
• Stephen Green provides some more local color.
• William Teach wonders where the presstitute coverage of this is. Answer – it doesn’t meet their “One vision, one purpose” meme.
• USCitizen has some fun with colors and dubs the O’Biden ticket “Bad Men”. Yep.
• TexasFred reveals the secret to starting each day with a positive political outlook.
• Christian Schneider makes the case that Joe Biden’s selection is a great leap for gender equity.
• Jim Geraghty remembers who Biden wanted as John “Flipper” Kerry’s running mate in 2004. Hint; he’s on a major-party ticket this year. Thank you Tom Daschle for winning the battle of this year’s VP nominee.
• Peter explores the Biden/Tony Rezko connection. I hereby propose that all future O’Biden commercials have the following disclaimer – “Paid for by Tony Rezko.”
• Rick Moran deconstructs Biden’s foreign policy “experience”. Possible new slogan: Biden – Screwing Up Foreign Policy Since 1979.
• See-dubya notes that Biden is more than a bit like Chevy Chase.
• Jon Sanders sums up ‘Rat Presidential politics with one story from The News Organization That Cannot Be Quoted™.
• Back to The Indispensible One – Jim Geraghty found Barack Obama sandwiched between a pair of rock acts. But, but, but I thought the Obamination was the headliner.
• Continuing with Jim, – he notes that the John Edwards’ Two Americas is alive and well for Obama’s big donors; they will get Secret Service escort through the perimeter on Thursday.
• One more Geraghty nugget (for now, at least) – he caught Obama in the wrong city. At least he didn’t make it a state like he did Eau Claire.
• Let There Be CHAOS, Part I – GayPatriotWest wonders whether it’s the fact that the Clintons are the Clintons or whether it’s Obama’s treatment of the Clintons that’s keeping the Obamination Express stuck in the mud.
• Let There Be CHAOS, Part II – Ed Morrissey notes that both Hillary Clinton and her advisers are skipping out on the Invesco Field coronation.
• Let There Be CHAOS, Part III – Wyatt Earp found Bill Clinton unhappy with his role. He should put some ice on that.
• Let There Be CHAOS, Part IV – John McCormack says that the 3 am texting was no mistake, even as the presstitutes were getting confirmation 2 hours prior to the “first-in-the-world-to-know” messages.
• Or Maybe There Won’t Be CHAOS – Allahpundit reports that Clinton will be part of the plan to nip it as the first flower starts blooming and ask for a unanimous blessing of the Obamination.
• Pejman Yousefzadeh found Obama economic adviser Warren Buffet praising the wonders of 1% economic growth. Talk about your low expectations.
• Gaius discovered a plan to ensure that; target TV networks and stations that dare speak up against the Obamination.
• American Pundit marvels at Obama’s “so <expletive deleted>ing what” defense of his lifelong friendship with domestic terrorist Bill Ayers.
• CDR Salamander created the perfect Maoist Obamination poster.
• JammieWearingFool reports the Denver plot against Obama was deemed by the authorities as “not credible”. Well; they are druggies.
• Andy McCarthy notes that it was a traffic stop that broke up this plot. And here I thought there was no use in doing roadside searches </sarcasm>.
• Dad29 sums up the ‘Rat platform in ART form.
• Zip discovered the ‘Rats rank the Peanut Farmer and Algore Goracle (in order, no less) as their favorite leaders not named Obama or Clinton. No wonder why they’re cheering the O’Biden ticket as the second Peanut Administration.

Shock item out of that – Joe Lieberman ranks higher on the “Very Favorable” meter among ‘Rats than Harry Reid.

• Jim Geraghty wonders where the complaints from the presstitutes about having to use port-a-potties are.
• Caledonia Unplugged pictures the answer; they’re so wrapped up in the Obamination Express they don’t care.

The (mostly-)non-‘Rat-infested portion will be up shortly.

The Morning Scramble, Part 2 – 8/25/2008

by @ 9:39. Filed under The Morning Scramble.

I’ve done so many of these, I don’t know if I’m starting to duplicate songs like a bad radio station. Oh well; eddiebear reminded me I missed John Lee Hooker’s birthday by a few days, so let’s roll with him…

• Ed Morrissey highlights another outreach from Team McCain to the PUMAs.
• Cuffy Meigs highlights 3 women who are now very much in play for John McCain’s VP, including a new player, former eBay CEO Meg Whitman.
• The Vintage one points out Whitman is pro-life.
• Michael Medved shills for non-starter Kay Bailey Hutchison.
• Curt found another non-starter, Colin Powell. Looks like I’ll have to start thinking about a last-minute look at the choices for McCain.
• Bill Quick discovered lowering taxes is still a winning issue. You folks in Madison paying attention?
• Soren Dayton stirs the pot of the RNC chair race.
• Lady Logician blows up the MPR/UMinn poll claiming a lead for Al Franken with the poll’s own numbers.
• Speaking of polls, Bruce Walker found an encouraging baseline trend over the last 13 Battleground Polls. Of course, I have a salient question; if anywhere between 58% and 63% of respondents identify themselves as “conservatives” versus either “moderates” or “liberals”, with 60% in the current one, how in the <expletive deleted> did we end up with the most-liberal set of Presidential nominees since 1972?
• Allahpundit caught Virginia Governor and Obama VP short-lister Tim Kaine (D) skipping out on geography.
• Kate explains the ‘Rat tax plan in sports terms.
• Carol Platt Liebau chronicles the latest episodes of Leftist moral equivalence.
• Ed Driscoll welcomes noted porker former Senator Trent “Cave-A-“Lott (R) to the porkbuster party with the usual satire.
• LBG is running down why John Edwards is refunding donations made from the America he is a part of (the rich America), while he isn’t refunding donations from the America he claims to be fighting for (the poor America). Guess he’s just doing his part to make sure that he wasn’t lying when he said there are Two Americas.
• Stephen Green defends Denver from the presstitute portion of the Leftist assault.
• JammieWearingFool Presstitute Follies, Part I – he caught Pennsylvania Governor (and Clinton superdelegate) Ed Rendell slipping an obvious truth out – PMSNBC is the official network of the Obaminaton Express.
• JammieWearingFool Presstitute Follies, Part II – he caught the nutroots threating The News Organization That Cannot Be Named™ for not showing 110% fealty toward the Obamination. Can I root for both sides to lose here?
• Patrick delivers last night’s dose of Gorebal “Warming” – a frost and freeze around the west end of Lake Superior. While it is not unprecedented (I’ve been there mostly this time of year the last 15 years), it is highly-unusual.
• Aaron states the obvious (or what would be obvious to anybody who watched the “oil” episode of “Modern Marvels” the other week); there’s a lot more than just gasoline that is made from oil.
• Continuing with the Hot Air pluggage (only partially because they have temporarily opened the door for registration) – Ed Morrissey reports that a land swap could solve the ANWR standoff…if the goal of the envirowhackos was to protect the environment and not to send us back to the 13th Century.
• Lawhawk has the three-years-later Katrina wrap-up.
• Randall Hoven has a point-by-point destruction of the Left’s lies about Iraq.
• Back to lawhawk – he digs the truth behind the Red Chinese infrastructure. What is the Chinese word for Potemkin?
• Owen reports on a solar-powered plane that’s managed to stay aloft more than 3 days. Nice, but I have a question; what happens in the winter when there’s little sunlight, and that sunlight delivers less energy?
• Uncle Jimbo, Matt Burden, Mary Katharine Ham, and a few others went down to North Carolina to visit Blackwater. If you notice a greenish tint to my skin, it’s not because I’m sick.

The Morning Scramble, Part 1 (O’Biden Special) – 8/25/2008

by @ 8:51. Filed under The Morning Scramble.

Here we go again with the multi-parters; there’s too much out there from the weekend…

• Before we begin, I must note that the door is now open at Hot Air (at least as I type this; it should slam shut later today).
• Ed Morrissey points out Barack Obama is retreating and defeating from his “50 states” (or is it 57, or perhaps 58?) strategy.
• Why 58? Sean M. discovered a new Obamination State – Eau Claire. Is there something the boys at On The BorderLine aren’t telling us, or is it yet another Obamination Gaffe?
• Speaking of gaffes, Mike caught the old hand of the ‘Rat ticket, Joe Biden getting Barack Hussein Obama’s name wrong. At least he didn’t call him Osama like The Swimmer and CNN.
• Dad29 found an Iranian policy more-dangerous than no-conditions negotiations; no-conditions cash. No wonder Obama took Biden.
• Slublog ran with that for another Classic SluShop.
• Michelle Malkin goes deep into the memory vault for Biden’s own Tuzla moment.
• James T. Harris dips into the memory vault for Biden’s views on another groundbreaking American of African descent.
• Mary found more SCOTUS problems for Biden.
• Shoebox lists the three reasons why we have the O’Biden ticket. No, I’ve never seen Shoebox and Allahpundit in the same room, and I also note that Ed Morrissey is from the same state as Shoe </baseball_inside>.
• Patrick Hynes notes the disparity between the presstitute’s and the populace’s views of the O’Biden ticket.
• Fausta found a great car dealership commercial riffing on Obama’s plan to leave us nothing but change. How fitting that the car we can afford isn’t made here.
• Trail-Mix has a classic badge on that ¢hange.
• Alice H found LogoGate Part Deux.
• Serr8d dug up the first draft of the Obonga-Bidog ticket logo.
• Michael Medved discovered that this is the first time since 1940 that either the ‘Rats or the Pubbies put up a ticket completely devoid of military experience. Unfortunately, that worked for the ‘Rats the last time they tried it.
• PUMA Alert, Part I – Charlie Sykes discovered that John McCain’s closing in the polls is due to the PUMAs.
• PUMA Alert, Part II – The Vintage one recounts an icy exchange between a Hillary Clinton delegate and an Obama one.
• PUMA Alert, Part III – PJ-Comix notes the DUmmies want the PUMAs to drop dead. What national parks are near Denver?
• PUMA Alert, Part IV – Ed Morrissey found Obama supporters throwing the race card against PUMAs of a certain natural tan level. I’m shocked, SHOCKED!
• PUMA Alert, Part V – Slublog has another Classic SluShop on this.

The rest of the weekend will be recapped shortly.

The Morning Scramble – 8/23/2008

by @ 2:29. Filed under The Morning Scramble.

Yes it’s very late (or very early depending on one’s perspective), but the O’Biden ticket is a guarantee of full blogging for those of us right-of-center, and I need to party…

I promise to not do too much O’Biden, but I must start with it before I run out of popcorn and beer.

• Vinnie the Trollhammer sums up the ticket quite nicely – LOSER.
• Jim Geraghty can’t wait for the McCain commercials featuring Joe Bidens’ words from last year.
• Curt dips into the memory vault for some Plugs’ gems.
• Matt Naugle also dips into the memory vault for another oldie-but-goodie from Plugs. Let’s party like it’s 1988.
• More of The Indispensible One – Geraghty digests the ticket (no word on how much Tums he took).
• Asian Badger calls it “manna”.
• Jonathan Garthwaite declares the tossing of the new media under the bus with the hours-long scoop by the presstitutes who found out that the Secret Service is protecting Biden “politics as usual — just with a big pile of cash to play with”.
• The Vintage one notes that the unnamed officials confirming the Plugging of the bottom of the ticket didn’t want to pre-empt the mass-text. Now, where did I put my Photoshop of Wile E. Coyote’s distant cousin, Barack H. Obama, Suuuper Mess?
• Okay, enough Plugs for one morning; back to the Obamination Watch – Vivian Lee has a new nickname for Obama that is guaranteed to make you spew your beverage.
• RightwingSparkle caught the Obamination Express openly campaigning for the prison population vote. More ‘Rat politics as usual.
• Rick Moran has the latest Nigerian Scam – help Nigerians donate to the Obamination Express. Why do I get the feeling that this isn’t the first time the Nigerians have been involved?
• Operation Chaos LIVES, Part I – Ace dreams of CHAOS!
• Operation Chaos LIVES, Part II – PJ-Comix found a certain parallel between “Peanuts” and the last two ‘Rats standing. Historical note; at the time Charles Schultz started the field-goal gag, Hillary Clinton had dark hair.
• Operation Chaos LIVES, Part III – James Wigderson has a few drink recipes. After all, we know Clinton can pound them down.
• Operation Chaos LIVES, Part IV – Jim Hoft found out that Clinton wasn’t even on the short list. Odds of Obama making that field goal in Invesco Field have now dropped to 1-2; good thing I locked in against when it was 2-7.
• Silent E found the schedule for the ‘Rat convention.
• Charlie Sykes posts an e-mail stating the obvious; Gov. Jim “Craps” Doyle (WEAC/Potawatomi-For Sale) is directing the war against Wisconsin Manufacturers and Commerce. For my out-of-state readers (or those that somehow missed it), I highly-recommend Christian Schneider’s smackdown of former UW Chancellor John Wiley.
• Lawhawk reports that Detroit mayor Kwame Kilpatrick (D) did not take a deal to leave office in exchange for the dropping of one of the two criminal charges against him. Oh yeah; Kilpatrick, an Obama supporter and superdelegate, won’t be able to go to Denver because the terms of his bond prevent it.
• Fausta found that the presstitute bias toward the Obamination Express exists just as strongly south of the border as it does on this side.
• The Borderline Chris has a heap of reasons to become more self-sufficient in the production of energy.
• Laughing Wolf found the Soviet Unio…er, Russia digging in and cleansing the parts of Georgia they occupy.
• Kim Zigfeld asks whether NATO will abandon Ukraine much like they’re abandoning Georgia. I guess the Ukranians are regretting giving up the nukes they had inherited from the breakup of the Soviet Union right about now.
• Original Pechanga calls for the end of tribal sovereignty. While he’s talking about California, it is equally-applicable to Wisconsin (there is a reason I use the terms “Craps” and “Potawatomi” in my extended description of Doyle).
• Gopfolk has the funnies.
• Nate Beeler pictures the Beijing Olympics Oppression closing ceremonies.
• Elliot asks a pertinent restroom question. After all that beer, it’s definitely time to melt some ice.

With that, I’m off to bed. I’ll have my thoughts on the all-plagiarism ticket sometime later today.

The Morni…er, Afternoon Scramble – 8/22/2008

by @ 16:01. Filed under The Morning Scramble.

This one goes out to the fans of the Obamination, as they wait for Barry O’s second…

Since the semi-intentional delay didn’t yield a slip of the ‘Rat running mate to hammer, let’s roll with the regularily-scheduled Scramble –

• Jerome J. Schmitt finds buyers’ remorse over the ‘Rat caucus system.
• Dean Barnett wonders where all the Johnny-come-latelys on Barack Obama’s inability to speak without a Teleprompter came from.
• Bill Quick remembers August is the Month of Doom™ for Dem Presidential candidates.
• Hugh Hewitt caught Obama worshipping the efficiency of tyrrany.
• J. Ewing puts some odds on the PUMA Revolution being successful. As an inveterate gambler, and a fan of CHAOS, I’ll take those odds.
• Jim Geraghty has another reason for John McCain to not take Joe Lieberman; the latter’s view on the economy.
• Ed Morrissey answers the question of how many houses John McCain owns – ZERO (his wife has them all, and because of a pre-nup, the finances are separated).
• S. Weasel charts the effectiveness of negative campaigning.
• Ragnar Danneskjold wonders where all the conservatives are on the RNC speaking schedule. Do remember the RNC has wanted conservatives out of the party power structure, if not all the way out of th party, for a long time.
• ScarletPimpernel says, “Climb to the bowels of the Posideon.”
• Sean Oxendine introduces the OxMethod of Electoral Vote estimating. While Obama had a slim lead when he introduced it, there are a couple of notes: it’s a result of older polls still included, and John “Flipper” Kerry had a much-more-substantial lead at this point in 2004.
• William Teach runs the numbers on how much oil the US has. If only the ‘Rats and envirowhackos would allow us to get it,….
• Dr. Rusty Shackleford brings bad news on an item Charles Johnson carried – that weapons complex in Pakistan the Islamokazis attacked with homicide bombers to the tune of 59 dead likely includes a uranium-enrichment plant. Charles also noted that the post-Musharraf coalition is collapsing.
• Laughing Wolf continues to provide the best analysis of the Soviet retaki…er, Russian takeover of Georgia out there. God help us all if one of the dark horses for Obama’s VP, Wesley Clark, actually becomes VP.
• Warner Todd Huston brings news of a union going back to its old totalitarian tricks. I’ll lay odds the New York City District Council of Carpenters will be endorsing Obama.
• Jonathan V. Last points out Red China has a ticking population time bomb bust. That may come too late for the US, however, as the serious impacts aren’t expected until 2050.
• The Borderline Chris ran some numbers on his phone bill. Take a guess how much of that phone bill doesn’t go to the phone company; I dare you.

One of the Cheddar expatriates in DC just had a bold prediction on the timing of the Obamination texting – 2 minutes before the joint appearance of Obama and his running mate. I’ll go with 2 hours before, only because I’m not quite as cruel as he is.

The Morning Scramble/Open Thread Thursday – 8/21/2008

It’s Thursday; you know what that means (blues and Open Thread Thursday)…

I was hoping to keep this small so as to not intimidate you into not playing along, but there’s too much good stuff out there. Oh well; let’s light this candle.

• It’s Beginning to Look a Lot Like CHAOS, Part 1 – Bill Quick reminds us just how few superdelegates have to change their mind (some for a second time).
• It’s Beginning to Look a Lot Like CHAOS, Part 2 – Gabriel Malor reports there is going to be a Hillary Clinton whip team on the floor. Exit quote from Gabriel – “Like a lamb to the slaughter.”
• It’s Beginning to Look a Lot Like CHAOS, Part 3 – plebian delivers a second “shock to the nation” ‘Rat VP nominee. He may well be half-right there.
• Doubleplusundead breaks out Mr. Rodgers to smack Barack Obama around over the lack of support he’s giving his poor brother stuck in Kenya. Guess it’s really true that liberals consider charity what they can force you to give.
• Doc created a couple new posters for the failing Obamination Express.
• Matt Lewis dug up a classic magazine cover. Now you don’t have to go into the memory hole to find a surprising friend of Big Oil – Barack Hussein Obama II.
• James T. Harris terms the “Chocolate Jesus” the Left’s Affirmative Action candidate.
• It’s Beginning to Look a Lot Like CHAOS, Part 4 – PJ-Comix laughs at the DUmmies who are panicking. I almost should’ve taken a Pink Floyd song in homage to all these parts.
• It’s Beginning to Look a Lot Like CHAOS, Part 5 – Jim Geraghty thinks Hillary Clinton is on the very-short list.
• Peter has the cure for the queasy feeling the ‘Rats are having.
• Fausta found the perfect bumper CHANGE bumper sticker. After all, change is all we’ll have left if the Obamination Express rolls into the Oval Office.
• John McCormack would have inspired a slightly-different song had this not been Thursday with news the gloves are off.
• E.M. Zanotti and Ace warn Team McCain against making the D&D crowd mad.
• Lady Logician says to expect one of several dark horses to ride alongside John McCain through November.
• Plebian channels everybody’s favorite Mitt Romney cheerleader.
• TexasFred launched the Write In Tancredo/Hunter campaign.
• Steven Walters found a unique use for leftover campaign funds – retiring state Rep. Barbara Gronemus (D-Whitehall) is holding a “reverse fundraiser”/retirement party with those funds.
• The Vintage one whacks a specific presstitute over the head for wishing a bipartisan ticket on McCain. I don’t know what’s worse; the fact the presstitute forgot what happened the last time the Pubbies reached across the aisle for the VP nominee, or the fact this particular presstitute works for the Washington Times? Bonus thought – the first (and last) time the ‘Rats had to reach across the aisle for the occupant of the VP office, they got the Constitution changed so it would be nigh impossible to have 2 different parties in the elected executive offices.
• Dr. Melissa Clouthier declares bike lanes bad for the environment.
• Nick Schweitzer discovered they tend to force bicyclists to violate state law.
• J. Gravelle salutes a real man of genius, Brant Vogt, “Mr. Too Stupid for a Driver’s License”.
• Wendy brings back one of my favorite things from mhkingHold Throw Muh Beer And Watch This! That reminds me; now that I’ve found his new haunt, I need to bloat the roll again.
• Peter has 34 more names for Milwaukee Mayor Tom Barrett, who infamously challenged Charlie Sykes to give him just one name of someone who committed vote fraud in Milwaukee.
• Michelle Malkin delivers the Beijing Repression Olympics update of the day – the results of one of the 78 protest applications filed. No word on whether it was one of the 74 that had been “voluntarily withdrawn”, one of the 3 where a revision was requested, or the 1 that was rejected outright. Bonus – don’t miss the official logo of the Repression Olympics.
• Speaking of Olympics (which I’m not watching), Little Miss Sunshine cheers the gold-medal-winning womens’ beach volleyball team of Kerri Walsh and Misty May for praising President Bush after winning the gold. BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!

I saw in my Twitter feed that doubleplusundead was complaining about having 200 unread items in his reader. I think I have something north of 200 unread items right now, and I know I’m still missing stuff.

The Morning Scramble – 8/20/2008

by @ 9:18. Filed under The Morning Scramble.

I need an extra shot of adrenaline to make it through Hump Day…

• Let’s start with the McCainiac Watch today and something that is only semi-serious – Plebian has the results of the Intertubes conservatives’ VP wish list (or at least the Morons’ wish list). Item #8 looks like a good qualification. Did I mention that plebian’s middle name is “Surely”?
• Rob Bluey isn’t counting out Eric Cantor. Whether he, or any other Congressional darkhorse, remains in play depends on who Barack Obama picks; if he goes with a governor, there’s no way John McCain could or should go with another Congresscritter, especially considering the historic low approval rating of Congress.
• McCain/Loserman, Part 1 – Carol Platt Liebau thinks it’s brilliant strategery to keep Joe Lieberman in the mix. It’s more like stragedy; while I can’t speak for anybody else, I won’t be fooled into thinking McCain’s choice is more conservative just because he considered picking somebody who still caucuses with the ‘Rats in the Senate.
• McCain/Loserman, Part 2 – Patrick Ruffini won’t be too upset if it is Lieberman. Thus is the difference between Washington Insider and somebody far away from the DC bubble (Sean Hackbarth’s description of me) made crystal-clear. It’s more like punting long on 3rd down.
• McCain/Loserman, Part 3 – Michelle Malkin asks whether we could vote for a McCain/Lieberman ticket. I seem to have missed the “I’ll be writing in the boss and see-dubya” option.
• McCain/Loserman, Part 4 – Ed Morrissey sums it up in one word – DISASTER. Actually, there’s a lot more words worth reading, including a suggestion if McCain really wants to blow up the GOP without blowing out all the conservatives.
• Erick Erickson asks where the stories about a pro-abortion VP for McCain are coming from. While I took door #5 (the closest thing to the “R”NC that is out there), a shocking number of people made the McCain campaign #2 with a bullet.
• Sean Oxendine points out the good and bad about McCain’s chances – he’s only getting (most of) those that don’t like Obama.
• Thomas Lifson found the Obamination campaign handing out “street money”. I honestly don’t know what the difference is between that and voter bribery, but it’s par for the ‘Rat course.
• Bill Quick is shocked, SHOCKED that the University of Illinois-Chicago is refusing to release records relating to service Barack Obama did for Bill Ayers’ group. He’s also wondering why the TV trucks aren’t camped out there (actually, he knows why, but I won’t spoil the surprise by repeating it).
• Obamination Out Of Steam, Part 1 – Lady Logician notes that Obama’s Virginia strategy isn’t exactly flying. Bonus – RealClearPolitics gives McCain a 274-264 projected win once all the toss-ups are factored in.
• Obamination Out Of Steam, Part 2 – Shoebox thinks Minnesota is now very-strongly in play for McCain. Minnesota has not gone for a Republican since 1972, the longest streak out there.
• Obamination Out Of Steam, Part 3 – Jim Hoft reports Obama’s Jewish poll numbers are the worst showing by a ‘Rat since Jimmy Carter’s 1980 run.
• McQ found the Obamination camp running scared in the wake of the Saturday Night Saddleback Slaughter. I have but 5 letters – CHAOS!
• J.R. Dunn makes the case for calling Obama a flake.
• Slublog wonders how, after 2 daughters, Obama could be so pro-abortion he supports after-birth murder like Russ el-Feingold. Oh, and before anybody goes and throws the 98-0 vote out there, that was on an amendment to a bill that never got out of the Senate. What did pass went through by unanimous consent without a roll call.
• Attila Girl has a question for the PUMAs in the audience on what happens if Hillary Clinton doesn’t get the VP nod from Obama. Come on, say it with me – CHAOS!!!!
• Flip wonders where Walter Mondale and Michael Dukakis are on the Epic FAIL speakers’ portion of the ‘Rat convention schedule. After all, the Peanut Farmer, Algore Goracle, and Flipper Kerry are all speaking.
• Michelle Malkin found a hidden $oro$ $lu$h Fund in the DNC platform. Bonus for Fred – the opening line is MRQ-worthy – “The Democratic Party platform is like a bag of pork rinds. You never know what high-fat liberal government morsel you’re gonna get.”
• Zip caught the BBC giving £20,000 to the 7/7 bombers, who promptly turned the cash into Jihadi videos. Guess the Beeb was outsourcing.
• James T. Harris found some more scientists who say we’re headed to a mini-ice age, not of 10 years as previously thought, but of 60-80 years, and not of man’s doing, but of the sun’s lack of doing.
• American Pundit found Russi…er, the Soviet Union (<expletive deleted> it; I’m going with the name Mad Vlad wants to restore) committing an act of war against the US.
• Dr. Rusty Shackelford delivers a couple of history lessons on Russia, Georgia, the Europeans, and Iosif Stalin.
• See-Dubya caught the Madhi Army back to its old torturous tricks. And here I thought that their “disarmament” meant they were peace-loving peaceniks who wouldn’t harm a fly, much less a fellow man <sarcasm_dripping>.
• Sean M. declares the Dallas School District’s essential elimination of failing grades a “huge pile of FAIL”. Paging Mr. Sykes. Paging Charlie Sykes. Please pick up the white courtesy phone.
• Walter E. Williams explodes various economic and economic-related myths.
• Rhonda R. Shearer caught Google cooking the Google Earth/Google Map books. Semi-related; Shoebox pointed out to me while I was putting this together that Google’s Blogsearch is pulling up a bunch of splogs.

The Morni…er, Afternoon Scramble – 8/19/2008

by @ 17:58. Filed under The Morning Scramble.

I may be late, but there’s a reason for it; a lot of good stuff over the morning through mid-afternoon period today….

• JammieWearingFool wonders which “god” Nancy Pelosi thinks sent Barack Obama. Baal comes to mind.
• Bonus “blessing” – Jim Hoft found an apparition on a grilled cheese sandwich.
• Patrick McIlheran has the 4-letter answer (yes, it is safe for work; after all, P-Mac is the token conservative at the local paint-catcher).
• Mary is trying to marry off Russ el-Feingold (Moonbat-Al Qaeda) to the Obamination ticket. Please, Barry; take him off our hands.
• Dad29 exposes yet another Obamination Lie – campaign ethics reform. I think I had this back in the day (I’m too lazy to go through the archives right now), but it’s a good day to bring this back.
• Lance Burri sees some shenanigans in the plan to seat Michigan’s and Florida’s full delegations. CHAOS, baby!
• Van Helsing is pondering what I’m pondering; a T-H100 invasion of Denver. I say again, CHAOS, baby!
• Michelle Malkin puts Obama in the Cone of FAIL.
• Curt takes a WSJ chainsaw to Obama’s tax plan.
• Brian Faughnan goes into the memory hole to prove Obama is dreaming of CubaCare. There’s no word yet on what will be traded away for medical equipment in year 7 of an Obamination administration.
• Jim Hoft details Obama’s appearance before the VFW Convention. Obama was right when he said he didn’t change on Iraq; he’s still four-score for retreat and defeat.
• Trail-Mix boldly predicts an Epic FAIL for Obama come November.
• Matt Lewis has early news of a poll surprise. Allow me to plant another CHAOS seed.
• RightwingSparkle found the mate of T-H100 praising John McCain. Let the CHAOS grow.
• David Limbaugh states the obvious; a pro-abortion VP will be suicide for McCain and the RNC. Given the actions of both entities, I have this sinking feeling that this will be the “one step back” to pair with the post-DNC VP announcement.
• The Vintage one has some good news regarding Joe Lieberman’s chances at being McCain’s running mate; the clock ran out on him 7/5.
• Zip caught the ‘Rats turning the flag upside down and backwards on their credentials.
• Fausta reports Google will be courting bloggers at both conventions.
• Christian Schneider found the “one nation” the ‘Rats were refering to as their Day 1 theme – the People’s Republic of Delusion.
• Patrick Ruffini has a winning plan for the GOP.
• Even more Jim Hoft goodness – he exposes what The News Organization That Cannot Be Quoted™ thinks about Algore Goracle’s running mate from 2000. No wonder why they don’t like to be quoted.
• The Game summarizes the last few months of Name That Party.
• Van Helsing blows out the candle of the latest envirowhacko “crisis” – oxygen depletion.
• J. Gravelle exposes the utter hypocrisy of the windmill envirowhackos. Those ugly turbines don’t mean a thing if they’re not hooked up to the grid.
• XBradTC presents the Cliff’s Notes version of combined arms.
• Eric explores life after Pakistani ex-President Pervez Musharraf.
• Duncan Hunter mourns the impending loss of Pakistan as a semi-ally, and offers what should happen now on the Afghan/Pakistan border.
• Bill Quick rides the growing Russian bear, whose growth is approved by the Europeans.
• Laughing Wolf offers the most-expansive view on the Georgian/Russian mess I’ve seen, including a righteous beatdown of SecDef Appeasment Gates.
• Michelle Malkin offers today’s episode of the Culture of Badassery (™, MKH), 85-year-old grandma edition. There’s nothing like making the perp dial 911.
• Christian Schneider wonders where all the statues to real people have gone. Well, I don’t mind a statue honoring a clown-crushing elephant.
• Day-late history lesson – Tom McMahon proves that, even in a barbaric environment, public outcry sometimes gets limited results.
• Grumps and Pete Fanning have a problem with the folks at the Governor’s Mansion flying the flag at night without lights.
• Phelony Jones has a word of warning for the bikers headed into town for the 105th Reunion – watch out for the potholes. After all, the governments have been spending the money meant for the roads just about everywhere except on the roads.
• John and Sanger explain the basic difference between Americans (at least a shrinking majority of Americans) and the rest of the world. It’s all about blood-based micro-ethnicity.
• Since I tortured you with that T-H100 pic, I’ll throw this palete-cleanser in for free – Chris the head barkeep put up a file photo of T-CC100 Sabathia. Let’s see; 8-0 for the Crew, 5 complete games, .571 OPS at the plate (the Astros made the mistake of walking Jason Kendall to get to him last night) – yep, he’s a Terminator; and I hope Mark Attanasio has the money to sign him for next season.

It’s still afternoon, if only barely. Guess this means I’m really back.

The Morning Scramble – 8/18/2008

by @ 9:10. Filed under The Morning Scramble.

I’m tanned, rested, and ready to blog again (while I help keep an eye on Fay over at the Free Republic weather desk)…

• Tom McMahon charts the Mavericks.
• Lawhawk caught NBC chilling their outdoor Olympic set. This is from the network that gave you the “dark, green” NFL set last year.
• Gabriel Malor plotted yesterday’s temperatures. Guess what was stone cold yesterday?
• Robert broke out the scorecards for that little event that John McCain and Barack Obama attended Saturday. There even is a variation of the old East German judge joke.
• Emperor Misha I found Obama trading air-conditioned suites at his outdoors Denver worship session (Misha’s term that he didn’t strike out; you’ll have to head there for the struck-out portion) to union bosses for million-dollar donations. Do stay for what the sheeple have to do for their “free” tickets.
• Gaius delivers good news on the technology of getting oil out of shale. It’s still in its infancy, but Shell Oil found a way to increase the recovery rate from 25% to 65%.
• Bruce questions the wisdom of keeping an archaic Wisconsin law requiring bicyclists to stay at least 3 feet from parked cars when municipalities are placing bicycle lanes right next to the parking lane.
• Uncle Jimbo assigns Obama a pay grade of E-0 for his non-answer on when an unborn child gets legal protection. Do remember that, like Russ Feingold, Obama couldn’t even answer what should happen if a child was “accidentally” live-born during an abortion.
• XBradTC put up a future Scramble song featuring today’s artist and helicopters.
• Vivian Lee proves that it doesn’t take a lot of brains to run a college. What do you suppose the one teaching job someone who was fired for misuse of funds should not get is?
• Nick Schweitzer raises a glass to Reason for the right use of ethanol. PROST!
• Eric interviewed Michele Bachmann.
• James T. Harris calls out Obama for singling out Justice Clarence Thomas for non-nomination.
• Slublog wonders if we’re ever going to see the “New Politics” out of Obama. Nope.
• Fred smacks around Cris Collinsworth. I must add that I’ve gained a bit of respect for Kobe Bryant; not a lot, mind you, but a bit.
• John Hawkins filmed a nice little commercial called “Hillary’s Hands”. Those of you in North Carolina ought to be able to see the similarities between that and the original Jesse Helms commercial.
• Fausta reports Cuba’s health care system is in such great shape, they had to trade giraffes for medical equipment. Yes, this is the health care system the ‘Rats want to copy here.

Yes, it’s a scattershot, and it’s short, but my mind’s still in semi-vacation mode.
