John Hawkins sent an invitation this way to participate in his latest right-of-center bloggers poll, so Shoebox and I both submitted our lists of favorite gubernatorial/national elected Republicans. We could send between 1 and 10, and I chose 8. While I don’t know who Shoe voted for, here’s my list (in no particular order beyond what I typed in):
– Paul Ryan
– Marsha Blackburn
– Bobby Jindal
– Sarah Palin
– Jeff Flake
– Steve King
– Jim DeMint
– Tom Coburn
To see which ones (if any) made it into the top 20, as well as the complete top 20, you’ll have to head to Right Wing News.
We also submitted our least-favorite elected Republicans; that list will be out tomorrow.
Right-Of-Center Bloggers Select Their Favorite Elected Republicans…
Right Wing News emailed more than 240 right-of-center bloggers and asked them about their favorite elected Republicans. The following 42 blogs responded, The Absurd Report, The Anchoress, Argghhhh!, Bad Example, Betsy’s Page, BizzyBlog, Bluey Blog, Dr…
I noted 8 of my 10 were in the top of the list. Unfortunately, the 2 that didn’t make it were the two MN CongressCritters. I think that’s some of the challenge with the R’s is that they don’t promote internally their own shining stars…guess that’s because they all think they are the one and only star!
Interesting to see Jindal at the top of the heap.
I would have thought Palin would have ended up a bit higher, too. And that Ryan would have actually been on the list.
Brad,
I think both Jindal and Palin hit the list because of all the pub they have received in the past 4 months or so. If I had stack ranked them, I would have put the 2 of them at the bottom of my list not because they don’t show quality but rather that they are realtively new (especially Palin) on the scene and I would like to get a bit more time in the seat for them. Jindal appeared frighteningly close to conditional conservatism over the pay raise issue. I was happy to see him veto it but he had inkled earlier that he would support it.
Who says Marsha BLackburn is our favorite?
Marsha Blackburn is my Congressman.
She is no conservative.

BOTH of you are….ahhh…deficient.
Does the name Sensenbrenner ring a bell??
It would, but there’s this little matter of ANWR.
Dad,
I’ll admit to not being as knowledgable about the WI CongressCritters…my list was mostly top of mind, folks who I’ve either got direct knowledge of or who have been leading charges.
(At least he’s not on my worst list!)
