Dunno about the rest of you 4 readers, but I seriously need the humor break.

Time for some fauxtography fun

by @ 8:46. Filed under Miscellaneous.

(H/T – Allahpundit)

Here is your chance to blow off some steam, check your eyes and the quality of your monitor, and try to figure out which of these 10 pictures are real and which ones have been digitally “enhanced”. AP got 9 of 10 right, I got 7, if you get less than 5, you a “punk-ass Adnan Hajj wannabe” (AP’s words), and if you drop below 3, you’re probably a Reuters employee.

One thing, don’t cheat by reading the comments there before taking the test (comments will be disabled on this post to prevent cheating).

Go to it, and good luck.

Yet another “no embryos killed” stem cell breakthrough

by @ 23:50. Filed under Miscellaneous.

(H/T – Free Republic)

KGO, the ABC affiliate in San Francisco, has the story of a brand new treatment to grow new blood vessels using one’s own stem cells. Very promising stuff, and the best part is no humans were sacrificed in the production of yet another non-embryonic stem cell breakthrough.

Sykes – The End of “Limbaughism”

by @ 7:31. Filed under Miscellaneous.

If only Charlie had written this piece over at the Wisconsin Policy Research Institute before the election, we might not be facing Speaker Nancy Pelosi, Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (assuming, of course, Hillary Clinton lets him have that) and State Senate Majority Leader Judy Robson. Of course, it’s more likely he would have been written off as a doom-and-gloomer. The money quotes:

At a deeper level, it exposed the larger flaw of "Limbaughism": Conservatism is not the same as populism.

By its nature conservatism flies in the face of popular ideas and culture; because it has firm, occasionally hard-nosed principles, it battles the fierce headwinds of both fashion and history.

Arguing from economic principles is not always easy. Arguing facts and logics is not as popular as arguing from feelings and emotions. Traditional morality is a far less easy sell than the culture of "whatever."

In education, "most people," may not choose higher standards or rigorous accountability measures over gold stars and happy faces. It is harder to explain why free markets create wealth than it is to pander to workers displaced by
global competition. It is an uphill fight to persuade workers that the minimum wage is not in their interest.

Those arguments, of course, can be won, and Ronald Reagan and others showed that they could be embraced by electoral majorities. But the case was made by conservatives who understood the odds against them.

It goes very well with what Ronald Reagan said after the 1974 debacle.

November Drinking Right/Casper for Everything Victory Party

by @ 11:06. Filed under Miscellaneous.

If you have nothing better to do after voting for your favorite Republicans, for traditional marriage (by voting YES on the DOMA amendment), for the death penalty, against any spending referrenda that might be on your ballot, and writing in Dave Casper for US Senate and Jeff Wagner for Milwaukee County District Attorney (and the only excuse is if you’re personally invited to another Pubbie’s victory party), come on down to the combination November Drinking Right/Casper For Everything Victory Party. As always, it’s at Papa’s Social Club, 7718 W. Burleigh in Milwaukee. If you lost the directions from last month, take US45 to Burleigh and head east about 2 miles. Papa’s is on the north side of the street.

We booted independent Milwaukee DA candidate Lew Wasserman from Papa’s just for this event (no, I am not making this up; he wanted Papa’s for his drown-the-sorrows wake and the owner sent him next door into Mama’s Pizza). We’ll be looking for you.

For those going to Drinking Right tonight…

by @ 18:01. Filed under Miscellaneous.

…and coming from the northwest side/suburbs, JSOnline’s DayWatch is reporting that northbound US45 will be closed at Florist Ave. Silver Spring Dr. (the last exit before Florist; they need some map readers at the 4th Estate/5th Column at 4th and State) at 10 pm tonight and the 2 following nights to repair girders on the Florist bridge.

My recommended route around that from Papa’s: Take Burleigh to 92nd St., turn right and follow that (it will turn into 91st St just north of Hampton Ave.) to Appleton Ave. Turn left there, and follow US41 onto US45.

Do not, repeat, DO NOT go all the way to Hwy 100/Mayfair Rd. That will only take you as far as the Silver Spring on-ramp, which will be closed, and ultimately Florist and the southern frontage road for Appleton. If you’re stupid enough to ignore my advice above and choose Hwy 100, at least remember this bit of advice; turn right and go to Appleton, not left. A left at Silver Spring will force you to go all the way to Lily Rd. and ultimately Good Hope Rd. If you can even make the left at Florist (remember, that’s the bridge the DOT will be working on), fuggedaboudit.

Cheddarsphere league wrapup – Week 5

by @ 16:52. Filed under Miscellaneous.

Spiraling Colby 113.08 (4-1, 546.76), Vast Conspirator 59.42 (2-3, 411.35) – The only team to put up triple digits every week used yet another masterful performance by Donovan McNabb (27.68) to overcome an off-night by LaDanian Tomlinson (7.00) and end the Conspiracy. The good news for the Conspirators, Jacksonville scored 26.00; the bad, nobody else topped 10; the ugly, the primary victim of the Jags, Chad Pennington, went negative (-0.38).

TheDebateTeam 87.92 (5-0, 532.46), Caledonia Bloggers 74.20 (1-4, 353.58) – The Debaters used a balanced attack of 5 players in double-digits, led by Peyton Manning’s 19.12 and Carolina’s 18.00 to remain the only undefeated team. The Bloggers also had 5 players in double-digits, led by Tom Brady’s 18.50.

Warriors 77.82 (3-2, 407.01), No Bid Contracts 67.60 (2-3, 409.38) – Despite two Warriors not coming out to play (Rudi Johnson and Alge Crumpler), the remainder picked up the slack, led by Deuce McAllister’s 19.10. That last fumble by team-leader Brett Favre (13.90) helped kill the Contracts.

Killer Boars 82.20 (3-2, 430.59), Highway Runners 79.15 (1-4, 379.74) – Fred Taylor (20.30) ran wild for the Boars, as they used the weather in Denver to help hold off the Runners. Finally activating Robbie Gould and getting his 19.00 on the scoreboard didn’t help the Runners, as the supporting cast failed to do much of anything.

Right Wing Wackos 84.47 (2-3, 421.14), Sanders’ Sabers 78.97 (4-1, 477.24) – Maurice Jones-Drew (17.90) and Drew “Hurricane” Brees (14.37) led the Wackos to a comeback upset victory over the Sabers. Eli Manning (17.47) could not overcome the continued benching of Anthony Thomas (0.00).

City Workers 78.40 (3-2, 414.89), teach3 70.25 (1-4, 426.04) – Chester Taylor (15.40) and Jake Delhomme (14.30) led a workman-like performance over the depleted Teachers, as Cincinnati had a bye. Byron Leftwich’s 17.25 couldn’t overcome the disadvantage.

Week 6 preview – Spiraling Colby @ Warriors – This one’s gonna get bloody. For me, LaDanian Tomlinson looks to get back on track against a poor Niners’ defense, Terry Glenn and Lee Evans are licking their chops. Meanwhile, the Warriors are countering with Javon Walker hoping for better weather and Ladell Betts set to high-step all over the Titans.

The fun officially starts at 7 pm (that’s 1900 for you, Owen), though a few people tend to show up early, others stay late.

Cheddarsphere League wrapup – Week 4

by @ 13:50. Filed under Miscellaneous.

TheDebateTeam 111.39 (4-0, 444.54), Spiraling Colby 111.03 (3-1, 433.68) – Fred Creed held off a furious rally by Steve Balboa to take the likely preview of the championship game by the closest margin of the year. The Debaters used 7 players in double-digits, led by Petyon Manning’s 21.69 to overcome both the game-time deactivation of Brian Westbrook and the high-scorer of the week, Donovan McNabb (36.46). Balboa refused coherent comment after the game, instead yelling, “Why didn’t I play Barlow?”

Vast Conspirator 111.83 (2-2, 351.93), No Bid Contracts 86.56 (1-3, 341.78) – The Conspirators had 6 players go into double-digits, led by Santana Moss’ 31.80, to burn the Contracts, who were led by Marc Bulger’s 32.96.

City Workers 69.61 (2-2, 336.49), Warriors 55.39 (2-2, 329.19) – Three Warriors didn’t come out to play thanks to byes, and still the Workers needed almost every point they could get. Michael Vick was too efficient against Arizona, netting 14.41 for the Workers, while the Johnson Boys gamely tried to overcome the disadvantage (Brad at 15.39, Rudi at 15.10).

Highway Runners 89.55 (1-3, 300.59), Caledonia Bloggers 70.21 (1-3, 279.38) – Despite still not activating a kicker (Robbie Gould is on the roster), and having Joey Galloway on the bye beach, the Runners got their first win of the season by running over the Bloggers, who were without the services of Ahman Green thanks to a game-time scratch. Kevin Jones led the way for the Bloggers with 21.70, and Clinton Portis followed up with a 20.00. Tom Brady put up a 19.61 in a losing cause for the Bloggers.

Killer Boars 81.22 (2-2, 348.39), Right Wing Wackos 48.51 (1-3, 336.67) – The Boars had a feast at the fading Wackos’ expense, as Thomas Jones had 22.70. Nate Kaeding and Baltimore’s defense led the Wackos with 9.00 apiece.

Sanders’ Sabers 112.29 (4-0, 398.27), teach3 85.70 (1-3, 355.79) – The long knives were out, as Atlanta’s defense (25.00), Rex Grossman (21.09) and Steven Jackson (20.60) all went over 20 points for the Sabers. Larry Johnson had 26.20 for the Teachers, while Cininnati’s defense (-2.00) “contributed” the second negative score of the year to the losing cause.

Preview of the Spiraling Colby’s Week 5 matchup – The Dynamic Trio of McNabb, Tomlinson and Parker will be back together for the Colby for the first time since the byes started. The Conspirators, who are looking to get above .500 for the first time this year, counter with Chad Pennington, Santana Moss, a freshly-healthy Steve Smith, and WR/TE rookie sensation Marques Colston.

1st Quarterly (or so) Spotted Horse Shootout wrap

by @ 17:17. Filed under Miscellaneous.

Or at least a very quick, disjointed one sans pics (I left mine at home):

  • I got to McMiller’s Sport Center just after 10, met up with Chris. We waited until 10:30, then went and got our all-day passes and proceeded to the 25-yard range. Dad29 was sick, so we missed his arsenal, triticale had to work, and a few others who said they wanted to make it didn’t (and a couple were late; more on them in a bit).
  • First gun out; Chris’ .44 Magnum, with the scope attached but not yet zeroed. The scope threw me off, as I wasn’t used to the focal point. We were both predictably all over the place early, with Chris zeroing in relatively quickly. Damn, but that has a kick, especially with the hunting rounds.
  • Next out; the .40 S&W. Nice action, and I actually got a few decent shots off.
  • Just after the long guns came out, Phel finally made it in. First up was the 7.62 AK-47-ChiCom-clone assault rifle. That there is a sweet rifle, and I picked up my rifle marksmanship pretty quick. Same with Phel.
  • Next out was the Tsar’s .22 bolt-action. Perfect kid’s gun; no recoil.
  • Mr. Tastic rolled in with a trio of pistols; a ported .45 with what he said was non-zeroed sights, a 9 mm, and a .22 with a laser scope. We took over another 2 lanes, and started having loads of fun.
  • At the same time, Chris brought out his Black Death .30-06 with a big ole’ scope and a bipod. Phel squeezed off a LOT of shots with it, I picked the bottom-right of the target just so my holes wouldn’t be confused with anybody else’s, and they weren’t as I left the McMiller logo down there ragged (was just a tick high-and-left, though if I would’ve aimed for the bulls-eye, it would have still been in the inner-white; after all, it was only 25 yards).

We pounded out so many rounds that we didn’t care that Chris left his 200 shotgun shells back home. Instead, we retired to the range office for some quick small-talk and some sodas.

I’m torn between picking up a .40 S&W and picking up a .45. I managed to get some good hits with both, nailing the 6th of the target I wanted to with both.

Ah, I see that Phel beat me to the post. I did stop for some good gas and some Subway, and then took the long way home.

Cheddarsphere League wrapup Week 3

by @ 18:31. Filed under Miscellaneous.

Spiraling Colby 107.02 (3-0, 322.65), Highway Runners 105.99 (0-3, 211.04) – The Colby, thanks to the efforts of Willie Parker (26.60) and Donovan McNabb (22.52), along with what head coach steveegg termed “Jedi Mind Tricks”, managed to fend off an upset attempt from the Runners. The Runners, who were playing without an active kicker, and suffered the game-time deactivation of Chad Jackson, had 4 players top 10 points, led by Clinton Portis’ 28.40, to double their year-to-date point total.

Caledonia Bloggers 79.31 (1-2, 209.17), Right Wing Wackos 75.07 (1-2, 288.16) – The Bloggers finally got some love from David Carr (17.21) and Ahman Green (17.10) to get their first win of the season. The Whackos were led by Darrell Jackson’s 17.70.

TheDebateTeam 127.28 (3-0, 331.15), No Bid Contracts 59.43 (1-2, 255.22) – The Debaters rode the shoulders of top-performer Brian Westbrook (34.40) to shred the depleted Contracts. Marc Bulger’s 15.33 was not enough to overcome the scratching of D’onte Stallworth.

Killer Boars 96.03 (1-2, 267.17), teach3 85.26 (1-2, 270.09) – John Kasay (20.00) led the charge for the Killer Boars, as they overcame John Gilmore’s shutout to get off the schneid. The Bengal players came to play for teach 3 (Carson Palmer – 26.86, defense – 16.00), but few others made a serious effort.

Warriors 98.73 (2-1, 273.80), Vast Conspirator 79.11 (240.10) – The tag-team of Javon Walker (25.00) and Ladell Betts (21.10) was too much for the balanced approach of the Conspirators. Chad Pennington led 4 Conspirators who reached 10 points with 15.21.

Sanders’ Sabers 82.10 (3-0, 285.98), City Workers 78.64 (1-2, 266.88) – Inspired by a promise of free Frebirds’ burritos with a win, Keshawn Johnson (22.10) and Eli Manning (23.50) did just enough to overcome a workman-like performance from Willis McGahee (15.30) and John Carney (13.00).

Preview of the premier matchup of Week 4, TheDebateTeam @ Spiraling Colby – Many in the Cheddarsphere League consider this a preview of the championship game. The Debaters bring the #1 running back, Brian Westbrook and #1 scoring team into the Colby Bowl. The Colby counter with the #1 quarterback, Donovan McNabb, and the #2 scoring team.

The trash talk started early, with Debate coach Fred D. hunting for a cheese shredder and Colby coach steveegg promising a cheese-curd-induced choke for the Debaters. Head referee Mills Lane, when reached for comment, simply said, “Let’s get it on!”

Cheddarsphere league wrapup Week 2

by @ 7:35. Filed under Miscellaneous.

Once again, a week late and a dollar short…

– Spiraling Colby 101.55 (2-0, 214.83), Right Wing Wackos 96.42 (1-1, 213.09) – In the matchup of the top 2 scoring teams in Week 1, the Colby used the two-pronged attack of Donovan McNabb (28.85) and LaDanian Tomlinson (24.20) to overcome a spirited performance by the Wackos and the OldBrowns (27.00).

– No Bid Contracts 109.25 (1-1, 195.79), Highway Runners 44.10 (0-2, 105.05) – The Contracts used Brett Favre (30.55) to pave over the depleted Runners. Trent Green and Clinton Portis were scratched from the lineup, and Terrell Owens suffered a broken finger early in his game. Joey Galloway led the Runners with 16.10.

– TheDebateTeam 102.50 (2-0, 203.87), Warriors 99.01 (1-1, 175.07) – The Debaters needed just about every point from top-scorer Peyton Manning (32.70) to overcome the Warriors. Rudi Johnson showed up to play, scoring 26.80.

– teach3 93.34 (1-1, 184.83), Caledonia Bloggers 68.35 (0-2, 129.86) – Carson Palmer (21.14) returned to form in time to lead teach3 to an easy victory over the Bloggers. Larry Johnson (14.70), Corey Dillon (14.00) and Matt Stover (14.00) also joined in the balanced attack for the Teach, while Dallas was the Bloggers’ top scorer at 12.00.

– Vast Conspirator 105.55 (1-1, 160.99), City Workers 90.47 (1-1, 188.24) – The Conspirators used 6 double-digit players, led by Antonio Bryant (19.10) to beat the Workers at the consistency game. Buffalo (18.00) led 5 Workers who topped 10 points.

Sanders’ Sabers 121.14 (2-0, 203.88), Killer Boars 74.82 (0-2, 171.14) – On the strength of some trickery and 7 of 9 players going into double digits, the Sabers simply outgunned the Boars. Eli Manning (31.17) almost outpointed his big brother to lead the cavalry charge, while Chicago’s defensive mastery (16.00) was once again not enough for the Boars.

Cheddarsphere league wrapup Week 1

by @ 6:53. Filed under Miscellaneous.

Yeah, it’s a couple weeks late, so sue me, just leave my team (Spiraling Colby) alone :-)

– Spiraling Colby 113.28, teach3 91.49 – Behind game-breaking performances by Donovan McNabb (20.98), LaDanian Tomlinson (20.90 in an unnecesary pile-on), and Frank Gore (27.00), the Colby rolled over preseason favorite teach3. Carson Palmer, teach3’s starting quarterback, treated Week 1 like a preseason game, and despite the Bengals mauling the Chiefs 23-10, he only scored 3.69 points.

– Right Wing Wackos 116.67, No Bid Contracts 86.54 – Behind the strengths of top-scoring Kurt Warner (27.77) and the OldBrowns shutout of Tampa (25.00), the Wackos steamrolled the No Bid Contracts. D’onte Stallworth shined in his debuts for the No Bidders and the Eagles, getting 20.10 points. Chris Cooley piled up the only negative score of the week, costing the Contracts 0.30 points.

– TheDebateTeam 101.37, Vast Conspirator 55.44 – It was no contest as two of the Conspirators (Stevfe Smith, Mike Vanderjagt) sat out Week 1 with injuries. Jeff Wilkins whacked 6 field goals for 21.00 points for the Debaters, while Ronnie Brown gamely put up 18.20 for the Conspirators.

Sanders’ Sabers 82.74, Caledonia Bloggers 61.51 – The transplanted Texan used a balanced attack of Eli Manning (17.94), Steven Jackson (14.00) and Pittsburgh (14.00) to overwhelm the Caledonian in this one. Tom Brady ignored a bum shoulder to put up 14.31 for the Bloggers.

Warriors 76.06, Highway Runners 60.95 – The Warriors came out to play, with the Johnson Boys (Rudi-16.30 and Brad-14.36) leading the way in this mild upset. Terrell Owens’ 14.00 lead the Runners.

City Workers 97.77, Killer Boars 96.32 – The City Workers used a 5-player double-digit attack (Marvin Harrison-11.30, Tiki Barber-17.10, Heath Miller-16.10, Chester Taylor-19.10 and Buffalo-14.00) to score a comeback squeaker victory. Chicago’s 19.00 and Fred Taylor’s 17.50 helped the Boars to a Sunday night lead, but it wasn’t quite enough.

Drinking Right and time to add to the roll

by @ 10:34. Filed under Miscellaneous.

I finally managed to be in town during a Drinking Right event. As the Asian Badger said, the usual suspects were there at Papa’s Social Club, along with special guest Jeff Wagner. Jeff had to bail very early because he was hosting WTMJ’s election coverage at 8 (no cushion because the Brewer game was rained out; otherwise, he could have stuck around until probably 8:15), but the rest of the gang stuck around, had some pizza and adult beverages (Patrick, Papa’s also serves Coke and they’re right up the road from you, so we’ll expect you next month), watched the returns come in, and generally had a good time.

Apparently I didn’t have enough non-Miller alcohol before last night; I somehow forgot triticale on the roll. That’s now fixed.

Ask Egg, Vol. 2

by @ 18:20. Filed under Ask Egg, Miscellaneous.

Lieberal politicians are not the only people who could have benefited from asking me what to do before doing something. As long as the histamines are kicking in (I’m down to my last dose of pseudophedrine, and I’m saving that for bedtime), let’s dive into the business world with a more-sarcastic tone than usual…

Letter #1 –

Dear Egg,

A bunch of illegal-immigration advocates started boycotting us after our PAC made a token donation to Jim Sensenbrenner. We realize that they’re the largest-growing demographic in America, and our operations on this side of the pond already have some experience marketing to Spanish-speaking individuals. We want to turn political, burn our bridges to Sensenbrenner and our traditional drinkers, and go after this emerging market, but we wanted your input first.

-Foggy in Londo…er, Milwaukee

Dear Foggy,

Do you really want to drive the Leinenkugel’s brand into oblivion? You might score with the pro-invasion crowd, but Drinking Right (and to a lesser extent, Drinking Liberally) notwithstanding, politics and alcohol don’t mix. Just ask Keg Goldschlager. Morever, if ex-Mexican beer drinkers are anything like American beer drinkers, they’ll drink up here what they drunk down there, and I doubt it was a SABMiller brand.

Prost!
-Egg

Letter #2 (unbelievably, this business actually did one thing that I would have recommended) –

Dear Egg,

My family business has been losing market share year after year. We’re also saddled with a bunch of recalcitrant unions who think it’s still 1966, not 2006. Our products, frankly, suck. HELP!

-Lost in Dearborn

Dear Lost,

Get someone in there who knows how to turn around a company, then get out of his (or her, as the case may be) way. I’m not going to recommend anybody specifically, but if you’re smart enough, I’m sure you can find a candidate or two.

Drive on,
-Egg

Letter #3 –

Dear Egg,

Our network is slated to run a 2-day 9/11 special based on the bipartisan 9/11 Commission report this weekend. In an unusual move for us, we plan on slamming everybody. However, our allies in politics got wind of this, and have threatened us. Considering who those allies are, we’re scared to death. Should we stick to our guns and risk a visit to Ft. Marcy Park, or should we hire Michael Moore to “edit” this special?

-Spineless in NYC

Dear Spineless,

Grow a spine. If I wanted the official DNC take on things, I’d watch “World News Tonight” (or any of your network competition, or CNN, or PMSNBC, or read the New York Slimes, or…you get the idea).

Heck, I think you never intended to have those things S(l)ick Willie and company objected to see the light of day, and that you put them in the “pre-edited” version just to raise the hopes of the majority of Americans who would rather watch The History Channel or Fox News for their 9/11 specials.

Too bad, so sad.

Back-early short takes

by @ 11:05. Filed under Miscellaneous.

I’m more-or-less decompressed from the 550-mile return drive from the wilderness, so it’s time to review:

  • The new outfitter – he’s still learning the business end of Canoe Country, but once he does, he’ll be great
  • 60-rod portages – damn easy
  • Ice on Day 1 on the trail – very refreshing
  • Fishing before a front goes through – good / fishing between fronts – not so good
  • Sven and Ole’s pizza – still the best Meat Zah, er, pizza, this or the other side of Chicago
  • Having your old outfitter come on out on Day 6 – priceless, even if the fish had wired their mouths shut
  • Him bringing out a 10-pound block of ice along with the rest of his stuff for a couple nights (over a 290-rod portage in 1 trip no less) – beyond priceless
  • Within 6 hours of rolling into one site, seeing a family of gray jays literally pose for pictures (actually not unusual behavior for them) and a pair of moose graze just off the campsite – awesome
  • Sitting down to take care of business you can’t stand for – refreshing (on the Canadian side, you have to dig a hole and squat)
  • Getting back to civilization – Well, hot showers and electricity are nice; the rest of it, not as nice

So, what did I miss besides the Islamokazis trying to act up again, being busted with tactics not approved by Russ el-Slimeroad (Moonbat-Al Qaeda)?

The Chorizo got smoked in controversy-filled race

Milwaukee (crAP) – El Picante, after getting a special one-day exemption from the INS to work in the United States at the urging of MLB Commissioner Bud Selig, finished a disappointing third in Saturday’s controversial running of the Brewers’/Klement’s Sausage Race.

The controversy started immediately after Brett Wurst beat Guido to the finish line to win the race. Well-known bookie Knock-Knees Tony was seen giving Picante a large manilla envelope as Picante departed the field along the right-field line. Picante immediately left after the race for the Arizona Fall League and was unavailable for comment, but Tony said, “Can’t a lucky paisan help out a new immigrant?” Wurst was listed as a 500-1 longshot by various sports books.

Further adding doubt to the legimitacy of their wins, both Wurst and season-leading Guido reportedly tested positive for excessive amounts of protein in a meat test taken immediately after yesterday’s race. If “B”, “C”, “D”, and “E” samples from the pair, to be tested in Gantner’s Gardens at 11:30 am this morning, also show excessive amounts of protein, their finishes will be thrown out. Guido that he always had an unusually-high amount of protein, offering to have his personal butcher provide years of evidence. Wurst vehemetly denied the charge after bonking on Friday, claiming, “I drowned my sorrows in Icehouse instead of my usual Miller Lite, so between that and my miraculous recovery from Friday’s race, that threw my body chemistry off. I categorically deny taking any sausage-enhancing drugs.”

Brewers’ owner Mark Attanasio was not impressed by these denials, ordering Brett Wurst and Guido suspended until this matter is fully-digested. They will be replaced by Dr. Z and Vito Corleone in today’s race.

There’s a whole bunch of red on the radar stretching from the lake along the Milwaukee-Ozaukee County line to the Dodge-Jefferson County line headed to the southeast. The National Weather Service currently has severe thunderstorm warnings up for Ozaukee, Milwaukee, Waukesha and Jefferson Counties, and the winds are howling at or above 60 mph with plenty of tree and power line damage. One thing they didn’t quite mention was the lightning; there’s a whole heap of it. They should push through by about 10 am.

There’s more behind this; we have a severe thunderstorm watch until 4 pm.
