I know Gov. Doyle signed it already with some veto messages, but I figured I may as well grab both sides of the Republican divide on the budget repair bill. Rep. Robin Vos voted for it, while Rep. Bill Kramer voted against.
Any pros care to give me pointers? :-)
Vos, of course, spun like mad.
1) His vote DID add to the “structural deficit”–although he blamed the economy. He may as well have blamed Global Warming, the slimebag.
2) Further, while he states that “we had to do something,” that’s absolutely false. He had to do NOTHING at all. $250MM in highway bids would not have been opened. But did all the roadbuilders go to Jamaica? China? India? on May 17th? I doubt it.
3) He worms around about “having written a letter…to Doyle” about the WallyWorld tax increase–but does admit that it could well apply to a number of businesses BESIDES WallyWorld. Think he knows how many? Who they are? And what effects that might have? (Wanna bet whether he actually knows?)
4) The question of “taking a pledge” and then reneging on that pledge was unasked–but you can bet he had a line of foofoodust for that, too.
Nice work!!
