Good news – they’ve found Frankie Bag-O-Cash Busalacchi’s calendar for 2003 and 2004 on his Palm Pilot.
Bad news – Busalacchi had time to wipe any mention of Troha from it.
Exit question for those with Palm Pilots; is there enough memory on those things to keep contacts from 3 and 4 years ago? Something doesn’t smell right here.
It STILL doesn’t smell right to me!
First of all…those devices synchronize with the main data on the the primary mailboxes and most organizations leave it up to the end user to back up those devices (if at all). I’ve never heard of IT organizations backing up palm devices for end users but then again, we’re not heavy users of those devices either so I’ll recuse myself from being an expert. I’ll just go with what I KNOW from the experience I HAVE had with those that I know use them here.
We back up the data that SUPPLIES those units, nothing more. If you loose your data, you can resynchronize what you lost from your online mailbox later after you recover your handheld device but generally it’s been my experience most IT orgs don’t have the time to get too involved with those devices.
