In case you forgot what to do while listening to the Blues Brothers, share links to some kick-ass stories in the comments.

Go to it.

I’ve got a couple of long-form posts that require some further gestation, so pipe up.
Housekeeping note – In case you missed it, I got a key to The Right Scoop, mostly because he wanted a piece on the latest initial unemployment claims.

I suppose I should warn the trolls the Emergency Blogging System is very hungry.
]]>
I’ll be gone all weekend to learn how to be a better blogger and to hang with some of the best bloggers around (how I got in that crowd I’ll never know), so Shoebox and the Guest Bloggers will be taking care of you. For those of you within traveling distance of Racine, do make the September 11th Tribute and Town Hall the Racine TEA Party is putting on Saturday. I wish I could be two places at once.
Partly because Shoebox and the Guest Bloggers sounds like a great band name (I know they’re great bloggers), partly because Obama ripped off Jimi Hendrix, partly because Thursday is usually Blues Day around these parts, and mostly because I’ll be pretty much silent until Monday, let’s celebrate with a second selection…

I’ll be back tomorrow live from the Defending the American Dream summit.

One of the things I’m looking to do is implement The Scramble as a headline feature, with its own feed and comments system, much like Hot Air Headlines. Since that will require a rather hefty hack of the template, I can’t promise that it will be here very soon.
Since you freeload…er, loyal readers have spoken, I’ll occassionally pop out Old-School Scrambles as well, especially since Dean has said he’d help me out there, and Jo’s provided at least one.
I won’t promise too many posts the next couple days – the NASCAR Nationwide gang is over at Road America, and I’ll be there at least Saturday. Depending on schedules, I might also be there Friday, so don’t be surprised if the 2-day outburst is broken.
So, consider this a 3-day/4-night weekend open thread.

The thread is now open for business.

For those of you needing a good laugh, JammieWearingFool found some “unfortunately-named” products for you to enjoy.
That’s the kind of stuff I want to see in the comments. Go to it, and good luck.

I probably should’ve declared Open Thread Week because I’ve been too far out of it, but it’s because I’ve been so far out of it that I didn’t do that. Still, I’ve got a couple things on the burner, including the first negative (at least tentatively) April for Social Security’s Disability Insurance “Trust Fund” since monthly records were kept, the speed with which the DPW “deconflicted” the 7th Congressional District with an anointed candidate, and the support for identity and vote theft by the Government “Accountability” Board (in Soviet Wisconsin, government votes for you).

Have at it, folks.

I might actually have some material today, but don’t let that stop you from contributing.

I actually have a couple things working today, but I’m sure I’ll miss at least a thing or two.

Just as a reminder, that Wreckoncilation version represents a $77 billion tax hike over the version of PlaceboCare (3.0, the Senate abortion-and-payoff version) now set for said Sunday vote. Even with that score, it’s looking more and more like DemonPass, a spawn sibling of DemonSheep, will rear its ugly horn.
Okay folks, have at it.
]]>
For those of you who missed the lowlights of that plan, they’re going to take a pass on voting on the Senate version (partly because it is so toxic, SanFranNan can’t get to 216 with that bill as-is, partly because they can’t trust the Senate or Teh Won to hold up their ends of the bargain), instead working on Wreconcilation and stating that, if that gets 216, the leadership will stipulate that vote also applies to the Senate bill, even though that bill will never have been voted upon.
Bold prediction – if that gambit is used, the Supreme Court will strike down the entire thing before the end of 2011, and it won’t be a 5-4 vote.
Now that I’ve given you some material, it’s your turn to feed the beast.
]]>
I’m sure I’ll have some backhanded Tweets on that “summit”. That said, the thread is yours.

The first thing to remember is that the Iranians have had a bit of a history of overstating technological achievements. However, given that the Mad Mullahs that run Iran see the US as the Great Satan and have vowed to extinguish both the US and Israel by every means available, it is prudent to treat the news as credible.
They claimed to have achieved 20% uranium-235 enrichment. That is far beyond what the typical reactor needs, though there are certain types of reactors that do use it, mostly Japanese- and Russian-design fast/breeder reactors. The Iranians claim to want to use it in a research reactor to produce medical isotopes; however, this appears to be the first time the existence of that “reactor” has been mentioned. Also, there are doubts on whether the Iranians can create fuel rods out of 20% 235U.
20% 235U enrichment also is significantly below the standard for nuclear weapons. However, it can be fashioned into a crude and huge weapon suitable for shipment in a transport container or cargo plane.
And now this thread is yours. This concludes the Emergency Broadcast System portion of this post.

I’ve done enough wonky posts for a while, so somebody, anybody, step up and feed me material.

Before I turn over the thread, there is a must-read from Erick Erickson that recognizes a state of war now exists between the federal government as headed by Teh Won and the free market.
Now, I’ve got a headache to attend to.

There’s a few things in the hopper, like Wisconsin’s finances in the bottom 10, what Republic airways gav, they first took away, the fiscal year-end Social Security review (and a prediction that the 12-month cash deficits start in April 2010).
