First, the good news. Despite not getting any help from Duh Deadskins, Duh Viqueens, Duh Deadfins, and a few other teams and getting eliminated from the playoffs, the Packers came to play and crushed Chicago 26-7 to finish 8-8. That’s 6 more wins than I had them figured for.
The bad. Listening to the postgame interview, it’s almost certain Brett Favre has just played his last game. Other than winning the Super Bowl, he couldn’t ask for a much better way to go out – beat the Bears, have a decent game of 21-42 for 285 yards, a touchdown and a pick the receiver gave up on.
Thanks for the memories, Brett.
It does appear that Mr. McCarthy knows what he’s doing as a head coach.
And it looks like next year will be even more fun, although the offensive schemes are going to look a LOT different with Rogers at QB
I say without Brett they revert to a 2 or 3 win team. Aaron Rodgers sucks … the 2nd coming of Anthony Dilweg.
Do the names Kyle Boller, Akili Smith, Joey Harrington, David Carr and Trent Dilfer ring a bell?
All Tedford QBs who stunk in the NFL … godawful. Only reason Dilfer has a SB ring is because of the Baltimore Ravens’ defense.
Rodgers is another dreadful Tedford QB who simply can’t play the position. God help us … the only other option is Marty Ingels.
To begin, Favre ain’t goin’ nowhere. I’m confident that he’s got a couple more years in him.
Secondly, if it did happen, Rodgers would not be our choice. If we really worked it out, Jordan Palmer might be within reach…
