Saw a pal yesterday who told me this has been the WORST summer he remembers. Allergies/asthma absolutely awful, which matches my observation.
I think it’s the friggin’ ethanol.
Think about it. Since the 1960’s//70’s, what else changed?
]]>Dear Ig,
It’s the uncertainty principle, combined with the recalcitrant ‘Rats who won’t vote for anything that doesn’t include an explicit tax hike on those making $250…, er $200… er, $150,000 (and implicit tax hikes on the remainder of those in the upper half of the income brackets). If you remember, the whole reason why the Bush tax cuts are expiring en masse this year, and some already last year, is because the Republicans couldn’t get to 60 votes in the Senate to make them permanent despite having a majority.
All we have to do is hang on two more years and hope for a Republican President.

]]>Since the GOP is going to take over the House, why are we worried about letting the Bush tax cuts expire? Wouldn’t the GOP House just extend them as one of the first things on their agenda. Surely the Senate will go along even if the Dems still hold the majority. And Obama isn’t crazy enough to veto the extension. Or is he?
Iggy, currently living is LaLa Land aka California.
