Comments on: And Yet, They Proceed

The repository of one hard-boiled egg from the south suburbs of Milwaukee, Wisconsin (and the occassional guest-blogger). The ramblings within may or may not offend, shock and awe you, but they are what I (or my guest-bloggers) think.Mon, 04 Jan 2010 13:28:54 +0000

No doubt. However, if they voted for what their states wanted, I’d be willing to bet the bill wouldn’t have gotten more than 20 votes! Clearly people like Ben Nelson, Jim Webb, Mary Landrieu, Evan Bayh and others, are not voting the way their constituents want them to. Heck, even in leftest MN, Placebocare is not favored. That puts two of the hardest core leftests, Klobuchar and Franken, on the wrong side of the vote!

Sometimes, being a republic is frustrating, much as I praise the concept for most cases!

That didn’t work out so well than and I doubt it would this time either. That said, I’m open to all options.

Likely a bunch of the (D) folk know that the bill is un-constitutional (take your pick–5th, 10th Amendments plus “mandate”, wherever that fits.)
So they can vote “yes,” knowing full well that the bill will be squashed by the Courts.
But they also make the nutroots happy, and QueenNancy/Harry/Barry, all at the same time.
