This is definitely a sweet deal for Mercury after gaining union concessions.  And with the tax apparently sweet for county coffers.

The &quot;how much per job&quot; question is interesting - since it appears Mercury will get the $1000 credit per job when each laid off worker is recalled, even though it isn&#039;t truly a &quot;new&quot; position. 

The total manufacturing jobs including current and laid off is 1350-1400.  So to reach the max manufacturing figure being touted only 250 truly &quot;new&quot; positions are being created.  Wonder what FDL residents would think if that subsidy figure were touted by the FDL Reporter instead of the $12400.]]></description>
