The repository of one hard-boiled egg from the south suburbs of Milwaukee, Wisconsin (and the occassional guest-blogger). The ramblings within may or may not offend, shock and awe you, but they are what I (or my guest-bloggers) think.Mon, 29 Dec 2008 16:38:31 +0000

Heather,
These are just another form of public sector jobs. Let\’s hire a bunch of people and pour a bunch of money into things that will require massive regulation or taxes to force people to “want” to buy our “new energy” do thingy!
Oh, by the way, sorry about lumping cats in with govt employees. It was an unnecessary slander on cats!

Mon, 29 Dec 2008 13:21:17 +0000https://norunnyeggs.com/?p=4271#comment-36831Second, more than 80 percent of these 3 million jobs will be in the private sector, including emerging sectors such as environmental technology.
How many of those jobs will go to people holding H1-B visas when there aren’t enough Americans with the science/engineering education to fill them? (I’m assuming “environmental technology” involves intellectual work like R&D on materials and electro/mechanical systems rather than merely picking through trash to “recover” the plastics; if I’m wrong I withdraw the question and wonder exactly who they plan to hire to pick through the trash for minimum wage.)
