I was going to join a “write-in” campaign, but now see that we’d just be giving the election over to Hussein?! Obama-lama in doing so. I will join the others who will vote McCain and then go home for a LONG, HOT shower and never think of it again. We can do what we can in 2009

I know what you’re saying. If it were anybody but McCain, I’d probably even agree with you. However, I believe that McCain would not listen to conservative influence whether or not we bend over.

I’m now focused on Congress; that is where the conservative successes of the last 14 years (yes, going back to the killing of HillaryCare version 1.0) that will be possible come January 2009 have been.

I respect Mitt’s decision, and know how tough that had to be, to make that decision and give that speech. To the downcast conservatives who want to sit home or waste a vote on a write in, I’d just say: When you basically leave the arena, you can not impact the outcome, or at least in a positive manner.

See what happens when conservatives sit out because of dissatisfaction with the President, Congress or the GOP nominee? We get a 2006 Dem Tsunami, and can’t coalesce around a candidate early enough in the nominating process to matter.

Rather than bitch and moan about being screwed by the Country Clubbers, the Establishment, or the tri-lateral commission, we would be wise to refocus and reassert ourselves. And you can’t do that by taking your ball and running home.

I’m not going to begrudge anyone the right to be angry, or the right to sit out an election, or whatever. But just because you have the right to do so, doesn’t mean it is productive for your cause.
