The ramblings within may or may not offend, shock and awe you, but they are what I (or my guest-bloggers) think. “…as Peggy Noonan correctly ascertained, it is George Bush the Younger who murdered the Republican party by continually pushing leftward on everything but taxes. I wrote about the need for Republicans to resist his demand for expanded government since my very first political column, written on September 14th, 2001. The Republican Party elite and the conservative commentariat conspired in that murder, first by betraying their principles and repeatedly defending Bush in the name of the war, then by embracing deeply non-conservative candidates such as Giuliani, Romney and McCain.”

You are watching the Party-in-Government succeed in its quest to eliminate opposition.

But you must understand the PIG as an entity which includes non-electeds–that is, the K Street gang and the Lawyers/CPAs gang, who, taken together, have a lot more throw-weight capacity than anything other than a large and determined group of voters (e.g., the group assembled that defeated McCain/Kennedy.)

That’s why the primary candidates (typically) run to the right (or left) and as Presidential candidates, run to the center. The point?

None of them will disturb the Comfortable Class–the bureaucrats, the lawyers, the CPAs, and the KStreet gang.
