Look for a series of cookies from dg.specificclick.net; unless you’ve got that site blocked (I do for both IE and Firefox), there will be tracking cookies placed by specificclick that report back to Specific Media every page visited that has a SiteMeter counter.

About the only thing I missed from that was the out-clicks (and that’s about to officially become a thing of the past). Other than that, and the inability to integrate it into the TH version of this place, StatCounter beats SiteMeter hands-down. I get the last 500 page loads, the option for an invisible counter, and a few other goodies I wouldn’t get with SiteMeter for free.
