Thanks for the anti-spam link. I’ll have to install it. I’ve been using the Bad Behavior anti-spam program but it lets so much junk through that I’ve had to go to moderated and I filter the stuff out manually which is a huge pain. This should help.

I don’t think there were 3 James Sullivans at that particular Whitefish Bay address, though, which makes your explanation back at Watchdog Milwaukee just a bit thin.

As for the captcha software, it’s Peter’s Custom Anti-Spam. ‘Tis real simple; put the .php file in the /wp-content/plugins directory (edit – originally had the wrong directory) and the .ttf file in the main directory, then activate. The nice part is I get to choose the words that show up. The only problem is the version I have (0.3) doesn’t let trackbacks/pingbacks through.

I should check to see if the new version (1.0) fixes that. I do know the random-image version that it was based on (Anti-Spam Image by Nio) fixed that, but when I tried to meld that code into Peter’s, it killed my site.

Further edit; while 1.0 doesn’t fix that, I did manage to properly meld Nio’s fix into Peter’s. Trackbacks/pingbacks now work again.
