Politico is reporting that John McCain will give himself a birthday present and announce his VP nominee in Ohio one day after Barack Obama (probably) takes his victory lap around Invesco Field.
Given they’re talking about Tim Pawlenty and Mitt Romney as the “conservative” choices, I’m not very hopeful that the proper timing won’t prove to be the entirety of the “one step forward” half of the “one step forward/one step back” nature of the McCain campaign.
