The repository of one hard-boiled egg from the south suburbs of Milwaukee, Wisconsin (and the occassional guest-blogger). The ramblings within may or may not offend, shock and awe you, but they are what I (or my guest-bloggers) think.

I-80/90 between the Indiana border and I-65 has been under construction since I started college in 1992. This fascinates me.

I've noticed if I leave MKE at 3 p.m. Friday, I get to Indy at 1 a.m. local time, but if I leave MKE at 7:00 p.m. Friday, I get to Indy at 1 a.m. local time. Also fascinating.

If I had $175 to burn ($80 plus $12.50 fuel surcharge for the car, $70 plus $12.50 fuel charge for me), I might well have taken the Express. Construction was simply horrid all the way around; the Tri-State is also under massive construction and not just to the Kennedy.

Sorry, you should have asked. 1) The Lake Express Ferry is worth it. 2) Don't drive through Chicago, the potential time savings are minimal versus 294, and the downside is much worse. 3) No to I-80/90, take I-94 through Michigan instead.
