The repository of one hard-boiled egg from the south suburbs of Milwaukee, Wisconsin (and the occassional guest-blogger). The ramblings within may or may not offend, shock and awe you, but they are what I (or my guest-bloggers) think.

<i>Going further, should there be a dress code for what the kids wear underneath their cap and gown.</i>

Given some of the horrific lack of clothing I've seen on graduates--kids! those things are see-through! especially if your skivvies have high-contrast printing!--hells yeah, there should be a dress code.

But when his classmates are taping their nicknames on their hats and releasing condom balloons during the distribution (saw botb of those at my brother's HS graduation ceremony), I fail to see how a Marine uniform disrupts the uniform solemnity of the occasion.

Ok, to play devils advocate. Where do draw the line. If a graduate is a volunteer fireman in Bloomer, should they be able to wear their uniform. If a graduate is a CNA(nurses assistant) can they wear their scrubs, their uniform? What McDonalds. Where do you draw the line? Going further, should there be a dress code for what the kids wear underneath their cap and gown.
Are the administrators and school anti-military, perhaps and probably and may that is what their motivation is. But, many school districts, like the one I teach at in Las Vegas would not permit it, and we do support the military.

Utterly stupid move. I've sent this on up to Malkin and I know that one other individual alerted the Townhall folks...let's see how much play this gets....

This young man deserves to stand tall and proud for his achievement and shouldn't have to hide it.
