Dad29,
I hear you but there are some signs that things are changing.
http://norunnyeggs.com/2008/05/a-growing-image-problem/#comments
And a SurveyUSA poll that says 40% of the US believes the "Bush Administration" (they didn't have a cut for Congress so I'll lump them in there) is responsible for high oil while only 16% say that OPEC is responsible. I think the message is getting through but there is a ways to go.

Steve, you nailed it! I couldn't say it any better , good job. I was puzzled when I seen Ryan and Sensenbrener vote like they did. After Sensenbrenner chewed Hubesch out last weekend and then voted like he did on this screwy bill. Do we need to start the "Conservitive Party"? What in the heck are these republicans doing. Seems like they are running scared. Did I miss something? Need to drink right one of these days. Have one on me this weekend. cheers

Do they? It takes a certain level of understanding to see that this is completely unworkable. Again, I'll point at Ryan. He's a smart cookie on economic issues, yet he voted for this piece of shit.

If you think the US public sees through all that shit, then you still don't understand how people get elected to ANY position in the USA.

Hint: Phone P T Barnum for instructions

Unfortunately, MN was right behind WI. The only shining spot was that my Congresscritter (I'll have to remember that) voted no. What really disappoints me on this is one that is very reliable Conservative, Michelle Bachman voted yes. I have to assume that all of this was nothing more than pandering in an election year...which makes it all the worse because I think the American public sees right through all this crap.
