The repository of one hard-boiled egg from the south suburbs of Milwaukee, Wisconsin (and the occassional guest-blogger). The ramblings within may or may not offend, shock and awe you, but they are what I (or my guest-bloggers) think.

Quite Simple Questioningegg, Doyle has created the new taxes climate. If he had ever said no to taxes (and meant it) these Milwaukee idiots would not even bring this up.

Why? Because he said he would call a special session to do what he promised he wouldn't do several years ago. From the article: "Doyle would call a special session if Barrett proves he has the votes to pass the legislation, Erickson said."

Why did you lump Doyle into this mix? Just because a group of politicians from Milwaukee asked him to do something, that doesn't mean he's responsible for their ideas. As far as I can tell, the Governor has not had anything positive to say about this. If you criticize him even when he does what you want him to do, don't you lose all relevancy?

We already do pay surcharges for 911 fees on land lines. However, they are geared towards covering the operating expense of the 911 system. Expanding this to include the cost of actual response is just another expansion of taxes. We already pay for those services, this will just divert the exisiting funding to other spending and be replaced by this new increased tax.

A HORRIBLE IDEA.

The surcharge will help fund emergency services? I thought our taxes did that already. At least, I used to, until I got a bill for over $400 from the City of Greenfield for my post-car accident ambulance ride last year.
