Well, it’s down to the wire. I wish I didn’t have to say that it was Day 2 of the blogburst, or down to the wire, but we don’t have the big money of a Giuliani or a Paul or a Clinton or an Obama. What we do have is numbers of ordinary people who have settled on Fred Thompson as their person for the White House.
As of 2:30 pm Central, or 2 1/2 hours from H-hour, we still needed $29,481 in the back of the red pickup. While we’ve raised enough to get the “Substance” ad on the air for a couple days, it’s not quite enough to keep it on the air through January 2.
Jim Lynch suggested skipping a couple lunches; I know I need to.
Fred took some time to film a combination “thank you/close that gap” message…
Now, get that truck filled up.
Revisions/extensions (7:09 pm 12/28/2007) - We did it. I was out battling the white death here in my corner of the land of cheese and beer so I don’t know what time we hit the mark, but as of 5:19 pm Central, the truck had $254,760. I thank you, and the Thompson campaign thanks you.
